Wasn't there a Max-D Secret Strike as well? They must have run out of names for new soakers. :p

^ Yep, the barrel has a diameter of 2" although the pressure chambers are 3".

The launcher is 168cm (66") long and according to my bathroom scales it weighs 7kg (15.4 lbs).

Well we finally got around to filming the video of my team's launcher in action. Here it is: Launcher Video This video is about 7 minutes long and shows much more of the launcher than my previous video (which only showed about 4 seconds of actual shooting footage). In the video the launcher was fir...

Well after having the compressor die on me a few months back and with my friend moving away to his mum's place in search of a new job, the launcher hasn't seen much action. But summer is approaching here in Australia and my friend is going to start visiting fairly regularly. Yesterday he drove down...

I'm in the process of modifying mine right now. How do you think the Solenoid valve does range-wise when compared to a ball-valve? Sorry for the late reply, I've never actually made a soaker with a ball valve. My friend and I moved straight to solenoids when we built our first launcher since they o...

Yeah the compressor is battery powered, this can be seen in image 4 of the photo gallery where the compressor setup is shown. We did modify the solenoid valve for air actuation and also modified the valve to open further. In image 6 you can see a handle on the end of a hose extending from the base ...

The compressor looks useful - what pressures and flows can it generate? I know wetmonkey442 used a portable on in one of his water balloon launchers, but this looks like it's a bit more powerful. The flow rate is rated at 72 litres/min. Max pressure is 150PSI and that's also the max pressure at whi...

Since the tripod was designed for accuracy when sniping, we wouldn't have much use for it when aiming over 45 degrees anyway so we just use the launcher without the tripod in those circumstances. We were also concerned that the smaller diameter pipes joining the PCs to the solenoid were going to be...

After a couple of months of building, modifying and adding new features, our new design water balloon sniper is complete. Our team designed this launcher from the ground up for battle practicality. It uses a 25mm solenoid valve modified for air actuation, and features two pressure chambers for two ...

Interesting. The Hydro Blitz will be the first Super Soaker to feature a shoulder strap in years. It would be nice to see a 5x or bigger nozzle and a CPS chamber, I won't get my hopes up though.

I can see how a point blank shot to the face could potentially cause some damage or at least make the target uncomfortable. That said, it's a rare occasion (at least in our wars) to come across an opportunity to shoot someone at that close a range as the people involved generally won't let themselv...

While reading war stories and soaker reviews over the years, I've noticed a fair bit of negativity towards firing at people's faces in water wars. I never thought much of this before but after recently reading a battle report which described rules that penalised face shots, I began to wonder what t...

The kind of water wars I have aren't one hit kill fights but aren't really soakfests either. While participants can be shot any number of times, it is emphasised that one's no. 1 priority is always to stay dry (or as dry as possible). When one team is taking significantly more hits than the other i...

My CPS 1500 has the same stream flicking to the left problem on the 5x nozzle, it's weird because the stream will start shooting straight ahead then flick off to the left and back again, often multiple times in the same shot. Only my 1500 does it though, neither of my 1700s do.. weird. ??? Edited B...

I voted 5x. The main reason I chose this nozzle size is because the light CPS models (1000, 1200 and 2100) are typically good soakers because they are light enough to be agile with, yet pack enough punch to hold your own in a water war.

I like the CPS 1700. It has a 5x setting (actually more like 8x) which has both great range and output, and has a heavier 10x stream, also with great range, for when heavier firepower is needed. The large PC size, decent reservoir size and overall fell of the soaker makes it a great primary weapon ...

I personally think range is more important. While a balance between both range and soakage is always crucial, I would choose a 5x blast with a long range over a 10x blast with average range. Any less than about 5x, however, and it becomes too prone stream scattering, being blown off course, etc. So...

For those who've now had longer experience times with the 2005 WW Aqua-Master lines, have any of your opinions on the line changed after use? To be quite blunt, I wouldn't even try one of them in a water war. Although Buzz Bee Toys definitely shows potential, the Argon, Krypton and Xenon are just t...

I'd recommend that you buy either a pair of Liquidators or a Max-D 2000 twin pack. They have only just hit stores here in Australia recently and after picking some up I'd have to say that both have quite good performance for their size. The reason I recommended the Max-D 2000 over the larger pistol...
