Re: Super soaker CPS 2000 mk2

Oatey Silicone grease is what I usually use for lubing soaker internals. It's extremely runny like oil, so you can easily get it to cycle through the entire system either by pumping it in or by holding the trigger down and pouring it through the open valve. Ignore the description on some sites, it's...

Re: CPS 2500 Review

IIRC, 2500s use the same bladders as 2000 mk2s...and in theory you can swap them. In practice, 2500 PC clamps are glued. I want to say I achieved that swap despite it being glued (probably during that phase when I was swapping all kinds of bladders around just to see what would happen), but it's bee...

Re: The prices on old super soakers lately have been absurd.

Some of those prices look about the same as when I was last active in this hobby and others are quite a jump. At this point, it's probably mostly nostalgia collectors buying this stuff than people who actually intend to use them. I mean, $90 for a 1500 that doesn't work? Gotta be a collector, lol.

Re: Which water gun is stronger, a cps 2000 mk1 or spyra 2/1

CPS 2500 nozzle selectors don't "break" so much as they tend to just spring a leak, sometimes quite a considerable leak from the bottom. Changing the screw or O-ring can potentially stop or reduce leaking. Some 2500s won't develop that issue.

Re: Canal Battle

This sounds fun and I miss water wars, but it's not the right time for me. The pandemic is still raging up here and after several exposure scares with negative tests, I am strictly limiting exposure to a handful of careful friends of which I know their daily habits/where they go/who they also intera...

I've been busy and still haven't got around to reviewing my Spyra One yet (along with everything else hobby-related I haven't done, lol). Am planning to, but who knows when. Maybe the dead of winter...

Re: Time-to-target

I still have that Chronograph and it's practical to use with streams (not fully-water*proof*, but resistant enough that it survived a testing session with a CPS 2000). FPS as a soaker stat may not end up being too useful, since there's a very narrow band of results pretty much every current soaker m...

Oh congrats @SSCBen that's a huge accomplishment!

I can't do anything in all of March, and nothing in April before the 15th. The rest of April and May are open so far.

Re: Autumn Invitational War

Alright Scott, so what do you think about this plan? Thursday - I arrive in DC at some point in the afternoon or evening Friday - We thrift in the morning and leave from wherever the last store is to head to NC Saturday - War Sunday Morning - Maybe War (likely sleep lol) Sunday Night - Return to DC ...

Re: Autumn Invitational War

What time do you think we'd be back in DC by on Monday, then? Leaving on Mon is doable for me, but potentially transit chaos as I'd be arriving in NEW YORK on NEW YEAR'S EVE right around the time when ONE MILLION PEOPLE are trying to get to Times - and I have to go through Times Sq - 42nd St station...

Re: Autumn Invitational War

Your riding down with me, right DX? If so did you want to try and go thrifting? The Thursday before the war would probably be best. IDK if the stores will even be open Monday, but it is always 50% off when they are open on a holiday, so there is a crazy amount of crowds. Even if you stayed until af...

Re: Autumn Invitational War

I'm still able to come, but I'd definitely need a ride from DC, Scott.

I'd hope we're not staying in the barn with this weather (just had the coldest November in 117 years), but then again, I have no idea what the weather is down there.

Re: Replacement screws for old Super Soakers

I've still been taking screws from existing shells, usually thrifted blasters that are either being picked just for their screws, or when the shell is a waste product (like with the Berserker lol). Many nerf blaster screws will go right into soakers. Definitely not a method for collectors or people ...

"Yolo" I ended up pledging. RIP my wallet, but hey I'll be getting something that doesn't happen very often. Kinda historic, really. 238% and counting!
