Re: Vapco PVC Spray N' Lock for PVC Homemades?
Yeah I tried it. I got bored enough and caved. So far I only have used it to complete a PVC pump that I have been procrastinating on completing. It works pretty well I would say. For PVC water guns, it's pretty convenient. Not sure about household plumbing though.

Vapco PVC Spray N' Lock for PVC Homemades?
Has anyone tried this stuff? https://www.amazon.com/Vapco-PVC-Spay-Lock-Sealant/dp/B07MWFJ2YF?th=1 It's basically a spray for fusing PVC. According to the company website , it is pressure tested to 215 PSI. Allegedly it doesn't harden in the can. One thing that annoys me about PVC cement is that it ...

Re: A chart showing pump diameter vs. force
Yep, I made anything over 40 lbs red. The coloring is arbitrarily chosen, but I think that once the force gets around or over 30 lbs, it starts to become unrealistic in combat, possibly even before 30 lbs. What do you guys think?

A chart showing pump diameter vs. force
I had some free time and was bored so I made this chart because I wanted to visualize how pump force changes with pump shaft ID. I would post a image preview but the image seems to get scaled down.

Re: APH Design Questions
I have to say that I prefer my Pump Action Homemade to my APH that I made. My APH's wooden pump leaks at high pressures, has pretty bad shot time, and is extremely cumbersome. Yeah you can get a 50+ ft shot but you're a sitting duck when you have to deal with a slow/uncomfortable/leaky pump. My PAH ...

Re: APH Design Questions
My local Lowes sells up to 1.5" sch 40 PVC pipe but also sells 2" and 3" sch 40 PVC fittings. They do sell non-pressure rated ABS up to 6". My local Home Depot sells up to 2" sch 40 pvc pipe and fittings. They do sell larger non-pressure ABS as well. I wasn't sure how much pressure they could actual...

I do remember seeing some Stream Machine style (don't remember the exact brand) blasters at my local Target, but only during June/July.

Re: APH Design Questions
I thought about it, but I prefer to just go to a store and buy it. I ended up using 2" pvc. It's strange... some of my local hardware stores sell 3" pvc fittings but not 3" pvc pipes.

Re: APH Design Questions
The APH guide gives the expected range for 1/4" and 3/8" nozzles, but what kind of shot times / range dropoff should I expect?

Re: APH Design Questions
Thanks Ben. I ask because my hardware stores only carry up to 2" pvc. To get the equivalent PC volume as 3" APHs, the 2" pvc would have to be pretty long in comparison. Do you think it would be alright to have 3 vertical chambers in my case?

APH Design Questions
I'm thinking of making an APH and I had a few questions. Consider the two APHs (please excuse my sloppy drawing, drew it on my phone): https://i.imgur.com/RVg0IeS.png https://i.imgur.com/gFHUeaz.png If the two APHs have the same volume for their horizontal pressure chambers, and the two were tested ...

Interesting firing valve used in air cannon, might be worth investigating
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1VCZEXi384&feature=youtu.be In this video this guy (youtube channel NightHawkInLight) makes an interesting firing valve for his air cannon that operates based on pressure differences. At about 7:50 he modifies it so that his air cannon could fire at a push of a butto...

Re: Homemade pump action designs?
I was thinking about the 1-inch diameter nozzles like parts 6484T15 or 6484T22. These won't work in your design because you used 1/2-inch pipe for the nozzle section, but if you used 1-inch pipe this would work. These nozzles have an opening of 5/16-inch, which seems to be roughly optimal just base...

Re: Homemade pump action designs?
Which nozzles from McMaster did you have in mind? I looked at some of their garden / fire hose nozzles but most of them seem like the spray end diameter is much bigger than the nozzles I use (5/32"). I've also never tried using McMaster nozzles before. Do you know if GHT thread type connects with PV...

Re: Homemade pump action designs?
One thing that was a pleasant surprise to me is that compared to the stream machine I had before, the completed pump action didn't have a significant drop in performance. I said I was getting 45-47 ft shots sometimes but that may be largely because I tested it right after training arms that day lol....

I got around to finishing my homemade. I guess I'll call it AmaIro's Pump Action Homemade? Only 45-47 ft range, but at least I don't have to worry about pumping or firing valves. https://i.imgur.com/F7gmkMD.jpg Parts: Quantity Part Name Cost Store Part Area 1 1/2” PVC Threaded Cap 0.85 Lowe's Body (...

I've found the solution to the issue with my CPS 2000. It wasn't the check valve. I posted about it here

[Guide] Fix slow pumping in CPS guns due to manufacturing inconsistencies
Hello guys. For the longest time I have been trying to fix an issue with my CPS 2000. The issue is the same issue that I tried posting about here . I have a CPS 2500 and a CPS 2000, and they basically have the same internals, so I was trying to figure out what was wrong with my 2000. Basically, the ...

Re: Homemade pump action designs?
Made a laminar flow nozzle and added a handle to the pump so that it's more comfortable. Shooting ~47 ft. without wind pretty consistently, regardless of whether or not I use the laminator that I made. Using a 5/32" nozzle so that it doesn't waste water so fast. So far haven't seen any 1/2" check va...
