Re: New Homemade PowerPak Triple LRT
Yeah, sometimes the bladder closest to the water source filled up, sometimes it's the last. I think it's settled in it's order now. They deplete together of course. The best combo was 10" of LRT in 24" long 2" pvc pipe (12" LRT was too much). The trouble with LRT is the longer it is the more chance ...

New Homemade PowerPak Triple LRT
Just finished a new homemade, PowerPak style, only fills with a hose/QRF. Has 3 LRT chambers, each one fills up in sequence (random sequence BTW). This will be used as a secondary weapon while a CPS1700 is my preferred main weapon. Video linked below. Stats: Smaller x3 or x4 size nozzle 30 second sh...

Maintenance is essential now more than ever!
Maintenance is essential now more than ever! It’s nothing new; we all will eventually face the truth that there is going to be no return of the great performing CPS blasters. There isn’t enough demand, so manufacturers can’t make profits on big guns. Or vice versa; manufactures haven’t created/marke...

Re: Did some range testing today, CPS & Homemades
It's hard to 100% rely on old measurements (except for like iSoaker's, etc...), especially if it was some 13 year old making claims on an old forum post. Because everybody has a different standard they are measuring too; last drop, puddle, effective, was there any WIND..... an undetected breeze can ...

Re: Did some range testing today, CPS & Homemades
The 5/16" (could be 3/8") is a 6 inch long smooth brass tapered nozzle I found last year (the threads in the homemade section has a picture of it on a gun). It's produces a very thick stream of water with only a short shot time but gives incredible range and cohesiveness. It empties the 3/4 gallon c...

Did some range testing today, CPS & Homemades
See attached image/graph for listed data. Maybe someone will find this interesting, just my findings. I know it's somewhat subjective what "effective range" is, so I make no claims for effective range, just last drops and puddles. I have found anything with a k-mod breaks up the stream more. The CPS...

Re: CPS 1000 Bladder sliding off post
Haven't seen it before. I have put a some teflon tape on the bladder as well as where the main reservoir connects just to tighten/seal it up before. Where is it leaking after charging it? Nozzle? Is there a crack? Or was it was the bladder connection point? Did you try a rubber band to stop the occa...

Re: Have manufacturers given up?
Oh let me see. A 2500 pump-shot, so needed the rubber washer epoxy back on in the valve. A 1200 had a missing/broken pump, made a new one. And a 1000 had a crack on it's valve which leaked, again marine epoxy to the rescue. Did take any pictures, all these repairs are pretty well documented at sscen...

Re: Have manufacturers given up?
The state things are in saddens me. The only thing that has been advanced water war in my opinion is the dad who came up with the quick fill water balloons (now sold by Zuru), I think he initially did a kick-starter to get the design out there. Now if someone would design a CPS gun that was easily r...

Re: *PROPER* LRT expansion.
Last year I was running into this issue with homemade splashzookas; that's why the bubble is there!! I was using 10-18" worth of LRT, it would start wherever it wanted, and then kink itself, or sometimes pop if you didn't know what was happening (hence I started using clear plexiglass/plastic for th...

Texas, extreme hot? Maybe just hot with extreme humidity. AZ is extreme hot. It's still 95 today (low of 60), which is just beautiful!

Re: Homemade Splashzooka
Yes, I'll do some kind of short instruction or video. I know now to NOT use a clear vacuum plastic tube (like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01F2UDNLK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) because after about 10 fill ups it blew up! I'll be switching to a stronger Plexiglass Acrylic ...

Re: My CPH just shot over 70 Ft!
Tim, I did try these (4mm?) straws you had linked: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ATJOMNI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I like them! The 3mm straws fit just inside of these ones, and I get at least the same performance if not a slight increase. I get about 19 straws in a 3/4 PVC ...

Re: Homemade Splashzooka
Using the new 6" long tapered nozzle this thing get 58ft effective range with a SINGLE 3/8", 35psi tube! (operates at 30PSI when expanded). It empties a 3 ft x 2.5" chamber in about 4 seconds. Have it on video too.

I just got a pressure gauge, when all the way full (reading through the laminator) I'm getting 60 PSI. Don't how that compares (POPCAP is 70 right?).

Can't wait to get that nozzle on my blaster! My forestry firefighting nozzles were such a bust. Can you post images of your new laminator? Did you end up adding a third screen and a plenum like you mentioned? These features improved performance in my setup. VR, Tim The new laminator did improve ran...

I'm glad it's working again! With a little perseverance one can keep a old soaker running for a long time. Most everything is fixable is these things.

Re: My CPH just shot over 70 Ft!
Thanks Ben for the info! Yeah, most of the nozzles I found were stepped or rough. Ewing had two in stock at the local store, but one had an extra burr/lip inside leftover, otherwise there are ever so slight lines going in the direction of the flow, but still smooth. With an ever so slight breeze (tr...

Re: My CPH just shot over 70 Ft!
So I remeasured the straws with a clearer ruler and they are 3mm (I had edited the post above). Yes, the larger straws haven't worked as well in my 'straighteners', but now I'm interested in a 4-5mm size (slightly larger than current). Both of these below are 5mm: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GGGPL0...
