SJ4000, a GoPro clone. Often used in Nerf wars, they work pretty well. The battery is removable and they record to microSD cards.

Re: $19 Action Cams on Ebay
$19 is not that much, but given all the knock offs and bad reviews I'm afraid to pull the trigger on this one. Very tempting, however.

It is a legit camera, though. It has a line and an ecosystem, just shares the GoPro look. They are usually $80-120 and commonly used in Nerf wars. The downside for me is that they use MicroSD, which are very flaky cards and the adapters for SDHC/XC card readers are both flaky and expensive.

Re: $19 Action Cams on Ebay
I've never seen expensive MicroSD adapters. The cards themselves usually come with a full size SD adapter. The only thing that's been flaky is the cards themselves at high capacities 64 and 128 GB. 2 GB is stable, haven't tested any size between.

Re: $19 Action Cams on Ebay
What I meant was that there are a number of reviews that state they received knock offs that didn't work properly or broke within a week. They noted some differences (no brand logo, other things that you couldn't tell til you got it). Ofc, there are a lot of good reviews to.
I will probably buy one before the war. Only issue is I'll have to buy a MicroSD card, and then an adapter as well. What I really need is a card reader on the front of my tower. I will eventually be buying one of those too.

At this point, I'd probably go for 32 GB MicroSD's unless the issues with 64 GB cards have been fixed. I'm waiting for mine via shipping, after which I'll test it out a bit. A 2nd camera should open up some interesting game filming opportunities, if I ever find the time to edit the footage.

Yes; a few of us in the nerf community have picked one up I believe.

I'll find out when it gets here. Shipping from China/Hong Kong can take a while.

Re: $19 Action Cams on Ebay
I just bought one and paid an additional $10 to ensure delivery before MOAB. Not a bad deal at all. I purchased the gold version. What color did you get?
Did something go bad with your GoPro or are you loading up with 2 different camera angles or lending one out?
For those of you who haven't looked into this, these shoot at 1080p/30fps or 720/60fps. While not cutting edge, this is definitely worth it for $18. Are we shooting in 1080/30 or 720/60?

I finally tested one of these, and to summarize, these are only worth purchasing for the accessories/hardware. The camera piece itself is completely trash and can't take anything at a usable quality level. You'll need the actual SJCam to make use of the hardware.

Re: $19 Action Cams on Ebay
I'm pretty sure this is how I had $250 stole from me.
This was the only transaction I have used paypal for in 3 months, and they only accepted credit card processed through paypal so...
Pretty upset about this. Had to get a new debit card and everything.

Sorry to hear that. I had a similar thing happen a year ago. If you used PayPal then the person you bought from won't get your card information. That's one of th advantages of PayPal. Most likely you got hit by a card skimmer at a gas pump or cash register. I'm not sure that's much you can do to avoid this aside from checking for skimmers before swiping. Did the card company give you a refund?

They said they were looking into it and would know by Friday if they could or not. I got hit by 4 $50 itunes charges. I don't have an itunes account. I did some research and saw that has been fairly common in the past. There's also a $50 flat and $30 flat paypal fee which I'm trying to figure out.SSCBen wrote:Sorry to hear that. Perhaps it's not the action cam seller.
