2020 Nerf Super Soakers - Return to Form?
After seeing the thread about the new BBT/Walmart guns, I decided to do some snooping to see if Hasbro revealed anything yet. Nothing on their website, but it seems isoaker is still alive and well, and has posted this on his website.
Talk about a throwback! First time in like a decade that I've gotten excited (well, a little bit) over a Hasbro release. It's like we're coming full-circle. From motorized to air pressure to CPS, then to crappy air pressure, then motorized/piston guns, and now back to pressurized. Knowing Hasbro, these soakers will probably only be around for a year before they go back to more dumb gimmicks, but for now it's quite refreshing to see. I guess maybe it's like a 30th anniversary thing.

That's a nice find. Thanks, iSoaker!
I'm getting the impression that the Super Soaker brand at Hasbro is a revolving door with no long-term vision. People work on the Super Soaker brand for maybe a few years and then leave that department (or Hasbro entirely). That could explain the lack of consistency. Buzz Bee seems to have more consistent lines. All of this is speculation, of course.
Who knows, though. With any luck, in a few years Hasbro will release a more durable version of the SS 300.

I am going to buy so many of these. Just like I bought 4 Python 2 the last year they were available, because we don't know how long they will be around.
I'm not too keen on the colors, but that's nothing a bit of paint can't fix.
I'm willing to bet these are pinch valves and not XP technology. Pinch valve is cheaper. Ironically it is actually more durable too...

A picture of the "XP 20" has been revealed. Obviously having more in common with the SS 20 rather than the original XP 20, this one has been more "Hasbro-ified," and doesn't look to be pressurized. Definitely not as interesting as the bigger ones, but still worth posting about. I still think this year's line is really cool, even if performance isn't up to snuff.

Hmm, well to me it looks more like the SS 20, at least the MK2. But they're both pretty similar. I wonder which would perform better. Pressurized guns don't seem to work very well on a small scale.
