Advice on price
Advice on price
I am kicking around getting this http://chillicothe.craigslist.org/for/5004497814.html for $100 it seems cool but then again I think its awkward and not that great. how does this seem as an investment?
Re: Advice on price
I wouldn't, and haven't paid more than $30 for one of those. Vintage blasters' values can fluctuate quite a bit, and it's not even an effective blaster for our games. (Requires some modding and lots of pumping to be more effective.) Should definitely try to turn mine to cash sometime, if I found a large-enough box and enough padding.
Re: Advice on price
Thanks for the advice. I honestly thought it was awkward looking anyway. I have been hitting up thrifts 3x a week looking for a cps. I had a cps 2000in hand a few weeks ago but had no idea what it was and ultimately put it down because I thought it looked like it would not hold much water. UGH that sucks. now that my attention has shifted from Nerf to Super Soaker I NEED one in my collection.,.

Re: Advice on price
I actually really love the Monster XL, but I will say this, a $30 CPS 1500 from eBay will take you much further. The MXL is amazing if you have a lot of strength and endurance and are purely using it for soakfests (free for all non hit based games) because you will absolutely outsoak everyone except maybe the SC Power Pak, which is also incredibly rare. I'm pretty good with the XL, but most of my friends that I've lent it to did absolutely abysmal with it. Several were completely ineffective and were destroyed by much smaller blasters. You do really have to be both in great shape and have good decision making (when to pump, when to shoot, which nozzles to use, etc.) to be effective with this weapon.

Re: Advice on price
I would recommend that you try and talk to the guy selling the Monster XL, try and get the price down to 60 or 80$ . I've seen a Monster XL on my craigslist before and I regret not buying it.
Buying one on ebay is nuts, because the shipping cost of selling some 4 foot long heavy box is high. You are better off to drive there and take a look! If it really is in good condition it might be worth it. Much better than spending 100$ + 40$ shipping.
Of course a CPS 1500 is a much better gun for battle... but still. It's the biggest water gun ever produced, and I want one.
