New in Box Super Soaker CPS 2500 Packaging

Post by signtyme » Wed May 27, 2015 1:32 pm

I have a new in box Super Soaker CPS 2500 from 1997 but when I tried to research it online every picture I see has the blaster packaged differently than mine. My blaster has the barrel facing right in the packing while every other one I have seen has it reversed. Does anyone know why that is?

Sometimes that indicates a different version. There are at least 2 versions of the 2500, but the only known difference is the presence or absence of number markings on the nozzle selector plate. Therefore, it shouldn't matter with 2500s. With certain models like the 2100, it was usually MK2 if facing screw-side outward. However, the way it's facing should not be relied on to identify a version, because not every screw-side 2100 is an MK2.

Thanks. Would there be a price difference in resale?

Yeah, maybe. There is a "clean side" and a "screw side", the clean side I assume is more valuable as a display model.
