New Super Soaker Commercial

Post by HBWW » Mon Apr 22, 2013 3:04 pm

So I just saw this posted on Nerf's official page:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZApyJduCIk

And for some reason, I just could not stop laughing after watching it. I can't figure out why either. Maybe it was the following line:

"... 4 adjustable nozzles so you can unload waves of extreme soakage! Well, not that much soakage, but you'll get to soak!"

Maybe it was the way he said it, who knows.

However, this is some serious iSoak'd/meme thread material right here. On the other hand, the marketing guys could be simply trying to be a bit tongue in cheek.

I can't believe they actually said that. I thought you were making fun of the commercial.

It sounded to me like he said "Well not that much soakage, but you'll get soaked!" (which is exactly right)

From the Youtube comments:
Obviously Nerf choose to insert the "well not that much soakage" in this ad for a reason. When releasing an advertisement, Hasbro and their marketing team closely examine the clip, perusing it for errors. It is a careful, thorough process. The reason Nerf added this narrative to the ad was to ensure that all customers understand that some visual effects were added to the video, and that the blaster does not perform how they advertise. They are required by law to do this.
This actually sounds about right, with phrases such as "major pumping required", "frequent use of slow motion", or "stunt professional, do not try at home". However, the result isn't any less funny anyways. :goofy:

At just about 19 seconds in, they explain how much they've goofed.
