Hands-On: Nerf Super Soaker X-Treme Hydro Pack @ iSoaker.com

Post by isoaker » Mon Jan 07, 2013 11:17 am

Along with the Arctic Shock, I also got a Nerf Super Soaker Xtreme Hydro Pack. I'm still torn about whether or not I'll actually open this accessory since it feels basically like the Max-Infusion backpack, but with an adapter to fit the Nerf Super Soaker clip-system using blasters.

In the meantime, posted on pics of the Nerf Super Soaker Xtreme Hydro Pack's packaging.

I am leaning towards opening it to take more pics and to test a couple of things out for the sake of knowledge to be shared with the community. However, given the fact that the new Arctic Shock has issues pulling water rapidly from its own clip, attaching the longer-tubing the Hydro Pack has to the new piston-based blasters will likely decrease performance further. I wouldn't expect too much problem, though, from the motorized Nerf Super Soakers, though, since their output is already so low.

Sadly, we really seems to be scraping the bottom of the performance barrel with the latest Nerf Super Soaker offerings.

We should all storm hasbro's main office with heavy CPS class blasters. :goofy:

I think you should open it up just so you can test your theory on lag with the backpack.

More pictures of the Nerf Super Soaker X-Treme Hydro Pack posted. Well, I opened it up for testing with the Nerf Super Soaker Arctic Shock. Learned some more things about how this thing handles in the process (i.e. don't giggle/accidentally squeeze it until you've got the cap securely fastened :goofy: ). Will go into more detail in the review, but it is a common problem with any soft-waterfilled-backpack.

I love soft shell backpacks. The colors on this thing are great (*cough* Hydrowar *cough.) Still not a fan of the clip system. Working on something myself with a 4L softpak. Definitely my favorite size for what I need. I also love the fact that it's incredibly rare to find this size.

I checked Monday at my local Walmart, and they have the the whole shabang. Flash blast, artic shock, domination drum, x-treme hydro pack, banana clip, thunderstorm, extra clips, and also the shotwave. Didn't see the switch shot. But I also saw all the Nerf mavericks were on sale, and there were strongarms in stock.
Unfortunately, they don't have Water Warriors yet.

It's a sad year when super soaker unleashes a whole brand new line onto local shelves, and the only thing we care about are the new Water Warriors.
My friends call me Nader. My foes just run.

I still don't get why they release the new lines in the middle of winter. I guess the cat's out of the bag when they hit Asian, Australian markets and the such, so they have to release everywhere? Can't wait for BBT to announce its lineup.

Well he does live in Florida. Doesn't mean they have released them in New Hampshire yet.

Yup, and I'm looking out to 70-80 degree weather, and I'm also complaining that it's awfully hot outside.
Tomorrow we are supposed to get a cold front though, I believe we have been having a stationary front for a while, which explains the hot weather.

I like the colors and softpacks, but it sounds like the aquapacks were more useful. At least the guns that used those wouldn't take a full 30 minutes to empty them out.
