Range has never been a big thing to me during battles since I usually find myself engaging others within 20-30'. There have been a few times range did offer advantage, but usually not. The Piranha, especially the newest version, has a better kick on its largest nozzle setting versus the XP310's. However, the XP310's largest nozzle setting ain't so bad, either.

Prices in this case aren't good for comparison as it can depend on the store. I've bought XP310s for less than $10 though not technically on any particular sale (on sale, it dropped to $7.99).

My main complaint about the Piranha is that my hand doesn't fit in the grip area, thus while not horrid, it's definitely more uncomfortable to use than the XP310 for me. I also dislike the rear-positioned electronic pressure gauge on-trigger. For longer battles, comfort of use still has me preferring the XP310. I've used both in FFAs.

I have an XP 310 and have used a Piranha. I just love my XP 310. Sure it's air pressure, has slightly smaller nozzles, and worse range. I like it because it doesn't have lights, it is nearly impossible to break, and it is IMO better looking than the Piranha. :) I'm a sucker for the older, spartan soakers. :p

I've also used both, and prefer the XP 310. I typically engage at 40-60ft, meaning that I would not use either gun. But I like the XP 310's very light and compact feel. The 310 is also more durable and doesn't have as many unnecessary features as the Piranha [like lights].

My favorite soakers are the cps 3200 monster X and monster XL because they are REALLY BIG,powerful and itimidating. And Duxburian if you engage people from 40-60ft away unless your sniping them it would be really easy for people to dodge your shots and you would waste water.

4 nozzles

... also the monster& 4100 can do some kicking of the butt

That's what you would think, but the fast 21K stream is very difficult to dodge. The enemy has half the time to move than a normal stream. They waste more water by shooting at me from out of their range, while I can hit them easily. Fast stream speed can be more important than long range, and the 21K has both.

Bigger isn't always better, and don't take the intimidation for granted. An MXL would not scare anyone in my wars, it would get swept aside pretty easily.

That might work for Waterbridge, but the Militia has in recent wars sprinted after them whenever they retreat. That MXL would be a pain. And I don't mean run, I mean SPRINT, which is very difficult to do with a bulky gun.

If the Pirahna is the same as the Lightning then I'm not really that impressed with all the hype. The power is more like that of an SC 600 than a CPS 2100. The range isn't all that impressive either - for what it's made out to be. I will say it's a good gun. Heck, it's a great gun; but so is the XP 310. It doesn't take many pumps to stay at 100% power while shooting with the 310, so it can compete with the CPS technology of the Pirahna with that in mind.

I have 3 favorites; the Storm 500, the CPS 3200, and the CPS 2100.

The Storm 500 packs a decent stream almost similar of that of the SC 600 or Max-D 2000. It has a very limited water capacity of 120ml, but it packs a good oomph than most small soakers in its class. And yes, the legend is true that I use it effectively. I also happen to like it because it actually looks and feels like a handgun, sort of.

The CPS-2100 is a very decent all-around blaster for me. I have a strap on mine, and it was my first big CPS gun.

As for the CPS-3200, I bought it from a member here last year sometime. I have make people literally scramble for cover with it, and enjoy how it looks so futuristic but simple at the same time. I have always wanted one since 2000, but could never find one until now:D

I have two favorites: the 1700 and 2000 (of course I own them both). I like my 1700, because it is compact, has a large PC, and good range. The two nozzles are all it needs.
I also like my 2000 because, of course, it has very good range, the power is still amazing to me, of course it soaks someone, and, the way I use it, with tap shots, it is pretty effective. And, of course, it's always fun to unload a 25x blast on someone. :cps2000: :soaked: :soakw2000:

I do a .5 second burst on the Storm 500 that equals 1 shot. I get about 10-16 shots out of it like that, versus two good 3 second streams.

My favourite would have to be my CPS 2700 - it's so heavy modded that it can take on anything and everything.

It was awesome before the mods, but with the extra nozzle settings and extra power, It outclasses even the heaviest CPS weapons.

It beats other weapons on options (6 nozzles) - power (20x) - shottime (the ol' 2x) and it holds a vast amount, and with a custom back-pack it will hold in even the longest fights (I'm thinking a 6 litre auxilary backpack for a total reservior size of 10 litres) I can carry pretty much anything that a water war needs me to, and it's not too much.

But enough about my 1337 modding skills. I'd favour it over almost anything - but I wouldn't say no to using a Monster XL or CPS 2k.

Sounds like a sweet gun. Have you k-modded it also, and if so, what is your range?

You should get into modding with more guns. If you think a 2700 preforms well with heavy mods, you should see the results with some other types like an 11k, 12k, 15.21K, etc. You might find homemades of interest too, if you want output [up to and over 60x on a good APH] and shot time [up to and over 5-10 minutes on a good CPH].

i know i keep saying it, but i gatta hold it down for my :flashflood: . sure it doesnt have the range or stats as other high end cps modeld, but just the pride you get from hitting someone with the riot blast. that and watching peoples jaws drop when they see it for the first time. 'its called a what? flashflood? well damn'.
more reliable then a max-D trigger

CPS 1500 pwns. I have both Monsters, and they are weak IMO. My favorite is now the CPS 2500 however. I use the 5x stream with tap shots, and get pretty good range, and tons of tap shots. 10x is for range, and 20x is for CQC when I feel like I don't need to conserve water.
