What do you think are the two most alike soakers that are non-linear? By non-linear, I mean that comparisons between guns like the XP-70 and -270 and XP-310 and Max-D 6000 would not be allowed. I'm not voting yet, so I'm counting on you guys to convince me one way or another!

I voted for the 2500 and the X. They're the powerful long guns of their generations.

I dunno. The MX seems like it's much more machine gun-like while the 2500 is more space gun-like. Plus, the 2500 is SO much more powerful than the MX.

I voted for the CPS 1500/1700-Monster (2001)/CPS 4100 link because they have they most similar CPS level nozzles. The 10X of the 1500 compares to the 8.5X of the Monster and both fo them have medium nozzles around 10X. The CPX 2500-MX, while close, isn't close enough because the 20X of the 2500 is far more powerful than the MX's 11.5X.

I still haven't voted... who is going to make the convincing argument?

The replacement for the CPS 2500 in 2000 was the CPS 2700 in my opinion. The MX was more of a variation of the heavy CPS category (2500) rather than a direct slot filler. The CPS 1700, which was the slot filler in 2001-2002, was directly replaced by the 4100 as the medium CPS soaker in the lineup.

Not exactly. The CPS 1-3-5 Blaster is the clear replacement for the CPS 1700, and it existed at the same time as the Monster, which was replaced in 2002 by the 4100. Plus, the 4100 and the 1-3-5 were produced simultaneously in 2002 & 2003. Therefore, the CPS 1500 can not be the direct ancestor of the 4100.

I've used them both, and they seem to be pretty darn equal when it comes to sheer power. Super Soakers that are of the same model are not the same however.
