Okay, I'm aware that my signature is big, but this is getting out of hand. No one wants to see signatures with two hundred smileys or a list of someone's armory. There should be rules in place about how annoying your sig can be before you have to remove it. You guys must agree.

^ while I'll remove sigs that are HUGE or questionable, different people like to have some freedom in how they can express themselves. Remember, one can also turn off viewing sigs in your Control Panel so if sigs annoy one or two, feel free to exercise that option.

iSc's right. I turned off Sig and Avatar viewing back in March on WWn. It cuts down a lot on load time too. I'd reccomend everyone do it. Some people's sigs just shout out, "Hye l@@k @ me! IMm teh n00b!!!!111eight" That's why I turned it off.

My signature isn't too big or annoying, is it? I can get rid of it if it is.

The smileys in sigs? Hmm.. anyone else particularly annoyed by the use/overuse of smileys in members' sigs?

13579 does have an undue amount of smilies in his sig and it should be edited...
I too hate anymore than one or two smilies in sigs. Or posts, for that matter.

generally by the fanbase, having too many smilies in the signature can be an insult to the community as a whole. However he may not have known that many people do not approve of this. I say let 13579 and Isoaker talk it over. Ther should however, be a restriction on how big Sigs get. I mean I do not like sigs a page wide and high, it justs drives me away from the content of the post.

Are you saying you don't like members to post more than once, or do you mean you don't like double posts?

He means smilies per post. It gets annoying if you include a string of smilies in posts. Double posts are n00bish too, though. Both should be avoided.

I really don't think that double posting was ever an issue. I thought that it was understood that it was to be avoided.

At SSC there are quite a few people that haven't learned to use the edit button yet. There was also some member a while ago who decided to post the alphabet in a topic, 3 letters a post. Double posting isn't an issue here-someone reminds the poster in their response to a topic and that member learns.
BTW What's the significance of the color of the lightbulb next to each member's name?

If it is yellow, that means that member is currently accessing the forums.

I've never had much experience finding hosting space and then using the URL of my image to get it as my signature. The one time I tried that (with an image form an existing site, though), my signatuire became a link, not the image itself. That's why I ended up going with the usual text signature.

Just out of curiosity, is my sig too big? I can reduce the number of pictures, if you want...

No trekkie, its fine. It's just, as mentioned by Cloud on WWn, putting your armory into your sig is, quoting him "N00bish" and I'll have to agree. Also the smileys are mind burning at times.
