Dudean Musings #2

Post by mr. dude » Tue Sep 06, 2011 1:06 pm

Figured I'd try another one. Comic strips are tough!
I don't think this particular idea has been done, though it feels really familliar. My apologies if anyone actually does have one of these up that I missed.

The timing seems appropriate given that we're discussing cheat-proof hit systems. No amount of rules will help with these types of people...
PS. Don't push people who irritate you, it's rude and violent.

Glad some realize that making a good strip is not the easiest thing to do. :goofy:

As for this strip, it is quite appropriate! Timely subject! In this case, a Ref would definitely come in handy! :goofy:

Oh man, I write sitcom-style scripts with some regularity, and it's not all that hard to make them funny (note that funny=/=good, you also need substance). Comic strips are so much more challenging in my opinion. 6 boxes is, what, 10 seconds of action? In those 10 seconds, you need to define characters, have a joke, let the reader know why the joke is funny, etc.
Definitely harder than having freedom with 20 pages of script to write as many jokes as you please.

Everyone put "Insert terrain here" in your signature.

That was pretty funny though.

Don't be a follower. It's not cool.

Note to self:
Incorporating laziness into my work is applauded by those who see it. Keep it up!

Nice one, certainly!

I guess a person who doesn't feel it's a hit when they've been hit squarely by a PC-load of the Flash Flood might just as well not take part in a waterfight.
