CPS 3000 Backpack

Post by Redd » Sun Jan 24, 2016 11:06 am

Just purchased a CPS 3000 for $10, however the blaster has no backpack. I referenced the backpack guide of off SSC, but since that backpack is meant for homemades the end piece that hooks up to the blaster will obviously be different. What kind of parts will I need to attach a solar shower backpack to a CPS 3000?

Nothing. Just wrap the end of the tube with some E-tape and shove it into the intake on the gun.

You'll have to completely replace the fitting with another one. See here for an example. I might recommend using some sort of quick-connect fitting. Ask at your local plumbing or hardware store about where those are. I'd also get some epoxy putty, assuming it'll stick to the fitting you bough. From there I'd saw off the old fitting on the blaster end, clean it up, sand it, and then attach the new fitting with epoxy putty. Might not be pretty, but will do the trick.

I ended up just wrapping the end of the tubing with e-tape and inserting it into the 3000's intake, and it has worked remarkably well. I did still have to get some extra tubing, and attach said tubing to the solar shower's tubing, but overall the project was remarkably easy and simple.
