The PRV could just be REALLY stiff from never being opened, unless something is jamming it. Doesn't really matter if you're reinforcing it. Keep in mind that if you can't physically generate any more pressure with the pump as it is now, then you won't be able to generate any more pressure with loads of layers of LRT, as you just won't be able to physically pressurise it.

GJIV says there's no PRV... eh, does a PRV make a sound at max pressure? If it does, then that extra tube might be there to support the reservoir... Or I could remove it, reinforce the pump for the fun of it, lube it, or I could possibly make my own PRV?
