Dude, you may end up being my hero. But please, if at all possible, use a normal trigger.

M4 it was most definitely a gorgon pump that you used in your failed HC 2500

In case anyone is wondering, progress is slowly chugging along on my HADROKEN! Err, Hydrocannon. (If you don't get the street fighter reference... shame on you.)
I broke opened my broken XP 150. It turns out it had the same torqueing PC issue that broke the XP95 I have. Anywho, I cut what I needed out of it and laid it into it's new body...
Image
Intake is going up, output (to the PC+ball valve) to the left, OPRV to the right=> I may end up removing that...)

So that is how the XP 150 pump will sit inside of the cannon. I will drill two holes (and nick part of the casing) to make the pump check valves fit as shown. I will cut, screw, and glue part of the tracked shell of the 150 onto the Hydrocannon shell so that I can still open it and the pump will be both protected and reinforced.

The intake and output tubes of the pump are 5/16"ID X 1/2"OD. I will clamp some 1/2" tubing onto both ends and feed a short length to the PC, and the other will end up in the new reservoir. Maybe I will cut a hole in the top of the Hyrdocannon so that I can attach the XP 150 reservoir (wouldn't that look... cool? Hilarious?) I may end up using half of the stock reservoir, but no matter what this thing will be fed via a backpack . Maybe I will modify the new Super Soaker 100oz backpack (cut off the clip thingy) for use on the cannon. (seeing as my 3 MI aquapacks are all 50oz).

The only problem is, sure I can do all that, but I still don't have any LRT. And I can't get any without some help. I really do need LRT!
*Edit: LRT is now on the way...*

Using the stock PC would be a joke, and I just finished repairing all 3 of my Flash Flood, so using one of those isn't ideal. By the way, the Flash Flood PC will fit, but being ever so slightly larger (in diameter and length) it presses against the tubing by the valve, and that could potentially cause problems. Also, don't drill the lower nozzle on a Flash Flood. Not even a little. Well, anyways, it reduces the range the more you drill, so be careful.
And if anyone has some input on my last post about using a single layer of LRT for the PC... that would be great!

Wayne Schmidt used a single layer of LRT for his PC bladder replacement on the 2000. I am seriously excited for this. You may be able to end up doing what I wanted to do and wasn't able to do. If so I may have to try again. The new pump is a MUST HAVE. The stock pump is way too small that it won't matter if you've replaced the PC with a more powerful one and increased the capacity 5x over. My HC 2500 was similar to my modded Arctic Blast in that. The stock pump is just completely futile, and even more so with larger nozzles and larger pressure chambers.

Well, I set out to make the Hydrocannon a truly war-worthy water cannon. And that is what I will do. It looks fierce and it's the same size as the CPS 2000; and I won't rest until it performs as good or better.

There are a couple of things worth noting, however. The first thing you should realise is that I am doing the pump upgrade the hard way. The easy way would be to mount the new pump where the reservoir was, and then pump it like a Nerf Titan (sticking out the back end), or maybe like a Firefly- mounted on top of the gun. However, for the sake of looks and function, I will mount the XP 150 underneath the old pump area. This will result in the pump sticking out a little bit further than the end of the stock gun. Still, not a problem. Hopefully if all goes well I will be using the Hadroken as the base for some nozzle and laminator testing.
The second thing is that, without a good PC this might as well be a riot XP150 with one PC. I'm really kind of bummed out by my lack of LRT, and if I don't figure out a way to get my hands on some soon I may just give up on the whole project. Just like your arctic blast, what's the point if the finished product only has 1/2 a second of shot time?

My local lowes may have some LRT. If so you could paypal me the money and I could send it to you. I LOLed when I saw "hadroken," but I totally missed the street fighter reference. I thought you were making a joke about the oncoming storm's spelling.

Sure, thanks, let me know what you find.
I don't know what it is, but something about firing powerful water guns makes me want to yell "Hydroken!". So I think it would be a fitting name for this gun.
Heres some random concept art. Hacked together partly thanks to Isoaker. Sorry it's too big.

It looks pretty goofy with the PC's, but I really may end up using the reservoir (it doesn't fit my other 150's).

*EDIT* Please forgive me for this monstrousity. It will never be created... forget it.

So it's not, in fact, a HydroPressure 150?

They don't have any LRT at my local lowes. Maybe some other members could help you out. DX got a bunch of guns from me in March. I think some LRT was involved in that deal. If he still has it maybe he'd be willing to sell.

Thanks man. I haven't seen DX around In a while; maybe I'll PM him.

*UPDATE* The Hydroken Stage 1 was completed on August 5th, 2013. This took a stock Hydro Cannon, removed the stock PC, reservoir, and a ton of plastic, and inserted a 3" wide plastic tube with a piece of LRT inside for an estimated 1.3L PC. This gun was never tested and has proceeded into Stage 2, where I am integrating an XP150 pump to replace the tiny stock pump I cut mercilessly out of it.
After finishing Stage 1, I could have put the gun back together, fed the intake tube with water, and had a functional gun. It would simply be a big PC replacement, and possibly a backpack mod. I have extensive pictures of the process which I will get around to posting eventually.

Amazing. Have you tested the pump to see if it's functional yet? It actually looks pretty cool.

OK well I have made some progress on the Hadroken. The XP 150 pump now fits, meshed with the Hydro Cannon's shell. The problem is, I had to cut a little more than I had expected and now I need to come up with a way to secure the respective halves together with plastic and some kind of epoxy/glue... which I don't have enough of. Once this is done, it will be a simple matter to screw both halves together like you normally would (although the XP screws are on the opposite side).
The last thing I need is more hose/ an adapter to fit the backpack I made for my CPS 3000. Once I get that hooked up to the cannon, it's basically good to go. Kind of scary though, I have no idea how much power it will have and if all of the pieces will hold up.
I'll post this in a new thread when I'm done.

Can you take pics of how you used glue and plastic and screws to demonstrate what to do after so much of the plastic has been cut away? Have you tried out the pump yet?

I'll post more pictures when I figure it out. Here is an old picture of before I cut the Hydro Cannon shell:

The pump "works" on it's own but I haven't connected it to anything yet. I have the tubing but it's going to be a tight fit.
I'd really like to buy a big hunk of epoxy putty but I still haven't found more than a few grams at any hardware store. I'm going to look around the garage and see if I can find something, I know there was contact cement around somewhere....

*EDIT* Found the contact cement! I have some good chunks of XP 150 plastic too; if I have time today I will glue the pieces together. And take lots of pictures!
