CPS 2000 MK1 / CPS 1000 / XP 105 For Sale

Post by jinxis » Thu Jul 24, 2014 9:43 am

Man, I wish I knew about this place and SSC 5 years ago, haha. Oh well :P

Anyways, my super soaking days have been over for quite a while now and it's probably time to finally let these lovelies go. I have a CPS 2000 MK1, CPS 1000, and an XP 105 to release into the wilds.

CPS 2000 - $100
CPS 1000 - $30
XP 105 - $20
All Three - $125

I'm not familiar with shipping items as large as these, but I think it would be safe to assume an extra $20-30 in shipping costs, varying on where they are going. Correct me if I'm wrong. They are all in working condition and the guages work, however the strap is missing from the CPS 2000. Everything else is all functional and original parts.

You can take a look at them here; http://imgur.com/a/kIpOe

Let me know what you guys think and if you have any questions, fire away! :cps2000:

P.S. These smilies are adorable, lol

Shipping should not be $20 even for the 2000, I payed $15 in shipping for a disassembled 2500 (same shell as the CPS 2000) with all the parts wrapped individually in bubble wrap.

Get an online shipping quote for the box size of each blaster.
If you ever bother reading these, I worry for your mental sanity. :oo:

Ah, I would have expected such a large item to cost significantly more. That's genuinely surprising. I assume it will probably vary with international shipping and what not. But don't get me wrong, I'm not asking for a lump sum to cover shipping. I'll notify whoever wants to buy these of the exact shipping cost and they can simply reimburse or just opt for C.O.D. I'm not looking to squeeze the rock over shipping costs. :)

Edit: In regards to the CPS 2000, I measured it and would need approximately a 40x14x14 box to put a good amount of bubble wrap in it as well. Going from Toronto to Vancouver, just as a random location, Canada Post wants $48.97 and UPS wants $73.71. Shipping to Florida via UPS would cost $76.30, and $108.81 via Canada Post. I estimated roughly 6lbs. for the weight of the package and Location shipping / Residential delivery. I would love to know what company you used and the To / From locations for your $15 shipping fee. Maybe your lower price was due to the fact that your gun was disassembled and thus probably in a smaller package. Otherwise, I don't quite know what to say. :P

That $15 was USPS domestic shipping to a middle zone. Unfortunately, being in Canada and using UPS will put you at a huge disadvantage with most of the buyers here.

UPS charges dimensional weight on international packages. "Dimensional weight" takes the box size into account and (for UPS) is determined by the formula (LxWxH)/166. That means your 40x14x14 box does not get billed for 6 lbs, it gets billed for a whopping 48 lbs (47.2 lbs rounds up to the nearest full lb). You may be able to escape dim weight by using Canada Post, I don't know anything about that carrier. USPS does not use dimensional weight, but you won't be able to ship with them from Canada.

Additionally, UPS charges a brokerage fee at Customs clearance around $15. National carriers like USPS and Canada Post rarely charge broker fees. There should be no duty or taxes because of the North American Free Trade Agreement, but you have to mark the Customs declaration in the right ways and get the value under the low tier threshold. There is a certain price level where a taxable good won't be taxed, because the value is so low that the administrative cost of collecting the tax is higher than what the tax is worth. What this threshold is, I can't tell you, since I've never shipped from Canada to anywhere and it is specific to each country and class of shipment.

International shipping is easy if you know which hoops to jump through, but you can lose your shirt if you don't know what you're doing. Given the relative domestic availability of the soakers you're selling, I doubt this is the right venue for them. Shipping a 2000 within region in the US can cost less than $10. International sellers really can't compete with this.

I had a deal to buy the CPS 2000 from him. He was busy, so he couldn't ship it, etc and then he eventually stopped responding to my messages. So I don't know what happened.
