*sigh* Well, though some say imitation is the best form of flattery, straight out copying, especially if no credit is given, is theft, IMO. I usually overlook auctions that at least give credit unless, of course, they are reposting huge amounts of info (i.e. stats lifted still in the table format, description, and images). Listings that copy or use images without even giving credit are the ones I go after. Thankfully, eBay gave me a simple email form to use to get those type of listings removed quite quickly. The form, however, has to originate from me, thus I unfortunately can't post it to get members' help in cracking down on the plagerizers.

Thanks in advance for all the help, though!

I hope my auction was not "offensive" ,I only gave the link to the Isoaker cps 2000 review for a standard reference guide..no copy and pasting there.
I have had some fun changing images/info that other ebayers have linked from my auctions...something to consider

In the area of Shame. I just won a CPS 1700 for 20$ plus $10 shipping. But when I got it, it was very badly packaged and the trigger was broke.
In their description of the gun, it specifically said that the trigger was good. :(

Luckily, it was a relatively easy trigger fix, but it took forever to get the nozzle thing off so I could get inside.
So I now have a CPS 1700 in good, working condition with a homemade strap. But I'm still feeling pretty ticked-off about getting ripped off like that.

I'd really like to track down that seller and show them how well their gun is working now.

hehe.. linking to iSoaker.com is NOT offensive and is actually encouraged! I have no problem with iSoaker.com's info being used as a point of reference. What I don't like are those who take info/images and repost it as their own.
The changing of images wouldn't work in many cases as some of the auctions I've seen are not stealing bandwidth; they had actually downloaded image files, edited them, renamed the files, and posted them elsewhere for use in their auctions.

These guys are truly shameless. Paste the above URL into your address bar or use Linky for Firefox, and you'll see what I mean. A few of those range numbers reminded me of the iSc review.

Just checking: are you leaving a negative comment in the seller's feedback? You definitely should be.

EDIT: Here we go! http://pages.ebay.com/help....7435935
The first selection in the first box takes you to the appropriate solutions.

I don't need to do that; the form I have usually gets them reprimanded as well as their auction de-listed.

BTW, thanks for the heads-up!

Monster X seller that ripped dark ANNIHILATOR's review and pasted it on his page. I know that its found on SSCentral but I swear to god it was featured here at some point.

He said "This is what a website said about it." But no quotes or citations. What is wrong with these people?

And Dr. D, thanks for the heads-up.

Wow. This guy managed to steal not one but TWO reviews! :oo: I'm pretty sure they're iSoaker and Dark Annihilator's for the 2500. I promise I wont do one of these posts every day, but I just couldn't pass that one up.

Thanks for the heads-up! Item reported. As for future reports, I have no problem if you're willing to let us know what you find, even if it is everyday. If sites are at least being acknowledged, I'd let it slide. However, when someone is using other people's pics and info to sell their stuff without even stating that the pic is not of their actual product, that's false advertising and just plain wrong. I can easily see the watermark I put on the pic in that listing.

Check this one.

Any idea what a CPS 3020 is?

Looks like a genuine Monster X. However, never trust Ebay pictures. Check sellers' other auctions for consistency with picture styles and watermarks.

^It's the second time I see a MX renamed as the "CPS 3020" on ebay. And the first one wasn't lacking stickers.

A [url=http://cgi.ebay.ca/Larami-Super-Soaker- ... 45991QQrdZ
1QQcmdZViewItem]CPS 1500, the seller wrote in the description that there is no broken parts, but you clearly see the snapped off nozzle selector switch on the picture.

A [url=http://cgi.ebay.ca/Super-Soaker-CPS-410 ... ryZ11745QQ
rdZ1QQcmdZViewItem]CPS 4100 , there's no problem with the description of this one. The error is in the price. :goofy: (isn't this expensive for a 4100?)

Yes, that's the current 4100 record high actually. It's probably not even an MK1, though it is in the normal release box, so you are not automatically stuck with an Mk2. Still, you can get a CPS 2000 for less than that...

It looks like the guy just took iSoak's stats and rounded them off. I guess there's no way to prove that, though...

Yup, those were taken from iSoaker.com. Proving it isn't as much about the numbers alone, but about all the stats reported together with the rounded number match. This seller has no feedback or anything yet. Will try getting him/her to at least add a reference.

Thanks for the heads-up!

@mr.dude: Thanks for the heads-up! If at least they ask for permission to use some info, I'd consider, but a full lift of images and everything is just bad.

Another plagiarized review for a CPS 3000:
