I knew the 300 was rare, but that's still obscenely high...

From what I've heard it was a pretty powerful gun. Can anyone attest to this?

It has a 3-5x like stream... very potent.. I can't quite tell if that's an SS300 or an XP300 (I only have SS300s and am not 100% if the XP300 looks particularly different).
However, ~$120 USD is... well.. a lot more than I could pay for one of those.

There is a thread over on SSCentral.com's forums. Two of the members there have hundreds of dollars and are duking it out since they want this one bad.

They aren't the most intelligent spenders to say the least.

CPS, even if you were to have won that, it's coming from the US and postage alone would have costed you a minimum of 35-40 US dollars, so you wouldn't have paid 20 even if the auction ended at 20 dollars, more like $60 or more. Don't forget we're talking US dollars, so 60 US dollars is approximately $90 AU.

You could probably build a homemade that performs better for less money that that!

It's definitely an SS 300. My XP-300 has a grey body with red highlights and my SS 300 is identical to the gun in the auction.

I don't blame them. It is the most powerful Air-Pressure gun and is arguably the rarest Super Soaker on the planet.

I was one of the people at SSC that was bidding on that... it turns out that both of were bluffing about how high we were really going to bid on it. My final bid was $113.03, I figured it was Drewsky92 that outbid me but it was someone else. I was willing to spend more than most (obviously not all considering that I didn't win the auction), but that's because I was getting sick of getting outbid on the soakers that I was bidding on. Now I'm somewhat glad I didn't get it, because I was looking for something as more of a practical weapon than a collector's item, and I got a CPS3200 for much cheaper.

Good on you. I'm sure the CPS 3200 is much better than the SS 300 anyway.
