multi water balloon launcher

Post by robotwarsrules » Wed Aug 20, 2008 4:13 am

i had a cool idea that i could make a douchenator water balloon cannon that could have 3-5 barrels, so it could fire loads of water balloons at once.any ideas of how to make one??????????????????

Simple, yet theoretically effective solution! :goofy:

I think this guy wanted to create a split-valve multi-nozzle WBL using a single PC to power a whole bunch of firing tubes at the same time. As each tube would divide the available power, the PC would need to be X-times more powerful given X-number of nozzles. It'd likely be easier to build some sort of water balloon catapult or trebuchet instead of a multibarrelled launcher if one wants to lob many water balloons at the same time. Either that, or as Gold Hawk noted, strap a bunch of single WBLs together.

My idea requires less work, and would probably be more accurate than a catapult or trebuchet.

My dad and I actually built a trebuchet that flings a baseball about 150 feet. That was about 4 years ago.

Just load muiltiple balloons into one barrel. To decrease reload time, use muiltiple PC's, a bolt/breech of some sort, and/or a high pressure air system. (which would be pretty expensive and hard to build)

It'd be rather trivial to make a barrel assembly like the "turret" Nerf guns. We've discussed this previously at SSC but no one's had the time to make it yet. With that and a semi-auto valve assembly you could have a pretty simple to build high ROF water balloon launcher.

Gold Hawks idea sounds nice, however the problem is that a bunch of douchenators strapped together would be kind of heavy.
