fixing a broken 1500
hi, I recently acquired a much battered 1500. The listing never said how badly it was only that it leaked a bit.
After a brief discussion with the seller ,during which they denied any problems and tried to belittle me, I complained to ebay but before they could do anything, the seller provided a full refund.
This soaker does more that leak a little bit. it leaks a lot when I try to pump the soaker. The nozzle switcher is very stiff and though I did manage to get it moving, the bit at the top snapped off and I don't know the best way to fix it. Normally I would use epoxy resin but I don't want to ruin the switcher. I will post photos later so those of you here who have more experience can offer advice.
Given how rare and expensive these soakers can be, it would make my year if I could get it running again.
The soaker 2000 I ordered is awesome and better that I ever expected.

someone please help. I've done all I an do
Re: fixing a broken 1500
Well either the orange nozzle cap is press fitted or glued so your'e gonna have to pry that off, also the pump cap should either screw off or be also press fitted. Once you open it up and take pictures I may be able to help you.

The 1500 is a great blaster. Have you opened it up yet? Is the orange nozzle cone glued on or can you pry it off?

Re: fixing a broken 1500
The orange nozzle can be removed but it takes a lot of careful wiggling. As of now, the only thing wrong with my soaker is the firing chamber but as the inner bits are attached to the casing via a metal pin, I can't get into the chamber to fix the problem.
I know how great this soaker can be but at the moment it is useless and will continue to be so unless I can get that pin out.

Re: fixing a broken 1500
Are you talking about the pin that the firing lever pivots around? If so you need to lubricate it so you can get the firing valve off. If you want to join my Water Warfare Discord channel you can join so I can help you more here: https://discord.gg/RpS44

Re: fixing a broken 1500
SOrry for the delay. STuff kicked of last summer.
UPDATE: soaker still not working. A leak was diescoverd at the fireing pin. Elastic band was fitted but as three screws need replacing in the fireing chamber, I can't test it yet. I did get it off the pin eventually but it involved much cursing and straining. and water seeems to come out the pumping handle at random intervals. I have tried to seek help from people but they think I should just throw it away.

Do not throw this water gun away. Worst case scenario you could sell it for parts.
icecrystal, I'm afraid that you're not providing enough details to make a diagnosis. Please post some photos and be as specific as possible. I can't really figure out what you problem is based on your description. The gun leaks from the firing pin? Or the pressure chamber? Or the pump handle? All of the above? Which screws need replacing in the firing chamber? What are the "inner bits" that are causing problems with the firing chamber?
I assume that you're able to get the 1500 open if you can find a leak at the firing pin. Can you identify precisely where the leak that seems to come from the pump handle is coming from? The pump handle itself does not contain any water, so the water has to be coming from somewhere else.

You can upload an image here if you go to the "full editor" and look below the post text field for the attachment tab. That should work.

I looked at the post source code, and it does not appear that you tried the attachment method. Click on "Full Editor & Preview" below the "Quick Reply" section and look for the "Attachments" tab. This does not involve Photobucket at all.

Re: fixing a broken 1500
I also need to mention that the little black things from the pump handle have been torn and need to be replaced. Mind you the other pump handle still has them on and it still leaks.
Re: fixing a broken 1500
I totally bet that you could remove that piece holding the firing pin in the valve with a gear puller.

Hi IceCrystal,
I think these might help you out - https://hydrowar.wordpress.com/repairs/
There are 2 articles on how to fix leaky pumps that aren't building up enough pressure.

Re: fixing a broken 1500
UPDATE
When I tried to pump up the new soaker this afternoon, no water came out. As I pumped a bit more, the bladder exploded away from the soaker. I haven't touched it since yesterday and it was fine (in the sense that it was fireing as it should) and I can see that nothing is blocking the tube. The other soaker just spurts a glob of water and leaks a lot from the firing pin. I can hear air escaping but can't pin point the hole.
This is what the ends of my pumps look like.
i am so close to chucking them right now.

Re: fixing a broken 1500
as it leaks from the pin you will probably need to open the firing valve and replace the inernal o-ring seal.
im also in the UK where are you based?

Re: fixing a broken 1500
shropshire. I will be getting someone to fix the really bad one for me. I will have to pay but the soaker was esentially free and he does have experience at fixing soakers.
I opened the fireing chamber and there isn't an O ring. Its one solid bit of plastic.
