CPS 2000 MK-1 LRT question

Post by TheSoaker » Sun Sep 21, 2014 10:10 am

Hey guys Guess what. I finally got a CPS 2000! Its a MK-1 but its original bladder is busted. I am using a colossused MXL bladder right now to power it and its shot time is less than a MK-2. So I want to get some LRT to match the original bladder. What size do I need?

Wow, this seems to be a chronic problem with MK1s. I'm glad I got a 2.

What kind of range does it get with the colossused MXL bladder?

Can you take some pictures of your colossossed MXL bladder in the 2000 and also of the replacement?

I borrowed the bladder from my CPS 2500 and now its technically a MK-2 now lol (don't worry, Ill give it back). Also I forgot to mention that I shortened the MXL bladder because I didn't know that the MK-1's bladder had a smaller Outside Diameter resulting in me not being able to pump the CPS 2000 up all the way and shorter shot time. also the PC casing in my CPS 2500 is in better condition than the one in the 2000 so Im swapping the two (sorry, CPS 2500. CPS 2500: First my bladder and now my PC case!? Me: I said Ill give your bladder back when the LRT comes in, Now stop whining!)

Ok guys the LRT came in today and I went to straight to work. After I installed the LRT I went to test fire it. I pumped it up and fired. A 20x freaking laser beam of water burst from the nozzle and landed in my next door neighbor's backyard maybe 58 feet away. so I pumped it up again. But at 3/4 capacity, the end plug in the bladder shot off dumping water ALL over me. I reinstalled it but the same thing happened. when I reinstalled the plug and clamp again the third time I made sure to glue both heavily and as I type it is drying. Does LRT stretch over time and become easier to fill like how you stretch a balloon before blowing it up? Or perhaps I should use a longer piece of LRT ( I was using a piece 9 and 3/4 inches long, the length of the original MK-1 bladder).

EDIT: Ok guys I found the problem. After using the plug and clamp assembly from the colossuses MXL bladder it pressurizes ok but It won't get past 3/4 capacity because the LRT at the very front is bent causing the pressure gauge to be lopsided in the PC casing making it jam and the PRV kick in at 3/4 capacity. Is there any way I could straighten out the LRT or maybe lube the inside of the PC casing?

Ok you guys Its fixed. I just flipped the LRT around and it expands properly. It works perfectly and its getting low 50s.

Nice pics! Dude your bladder reallllly ruptured. Mine just had a small slit in it. That was completely destroyed. Does the curved LRT make pumping weird at all? It seems like it would want to push downward as well as out.

No Pumping is pretty easy. In the second picture you might notice a small piece of bladder material at the rear of the bladder which is there to thicken the rear of the bladder because The thinnest part of the LRT always expands first and this makes the front expand first.
