Super Soaker CPS 1700 Pump Cap

Post by Me_Soak_U » Tue Jul 26, 2011 5:39 pm

I have just won a cps 1700 off ebay that does not have a pump cap. I was wondering what problems this may cause and if there is a way to fix them. I do have a couple other pump caps that i might be able to get to fit. The gun should come in 2-6 days so ill find out soon. Thanks in advance!
P.S. Would a cps 1700 be a good fight for a 2500? some people think so. If i'm using the 1700 how should I fight? :cps1500: :cps2500:

I think all the pump cap does is help hold the blaster together (I could be wrong though.), so having it missing won't be a big deal. I've fired blasters while they were open, and the pumps still worked.

In answer to your P.S., I've heard people say that the 1700 (And 1500.) is the best all-around blaster ever, therefore it would be able to defeat anything else on the market. However, the 2500 is also supposed to be really good as well. I think the 2500 has more power, but is more heavy and bulky. So a strong 2500 user could probably beat a weaker 1700 user, but if both players have equal skills, I think the 1700 would have the advantage. I can't be sure, since I don't have experience with either, but I'm sure someone who has can tell you.

All the pump cap does is keep you from modding it. :p it would be a good idea to reinforce the pump shaft, as they are known to be a bit dodgy. You will definitely have a mobility advantage over the 2500, and a better nozzle selector. However, your gun is more brightly colored than the 2500.

What was the price?

It was 50 bucks. The pump cap on the 1700 actually holds in the pump I think.

Thats a bit pricy. Plus shipping? I would wait for off season for a better deal at that price .

that includes shipping. The thing is im the kind of person who goes through obsessive stages so you probably wont here any thing from me over the off season. I'll probably have a different obsession. Also funds aren't too much of a problem.

I have obsessive stages too! But this one is lasting longer than others.

The shipping included makes it not so bad. I got my 2100 for 26+15. Good deal for such a compact gun. Your deal turned out well too!

Yeah. You just got to be batient, and you might find a gem for cheap. You don't seem like a patient person though. :p

The pump cap holds the pump in the soaker. On the CPS 1000 the pump will slide right without, and I assume the 1700 is the same.
