It's easier in one sense when you have a defined brand to rally around. For us, the answer is not as simple.

Some possibilities:

SIC - Soaker/Soaking Internet Community
WWOC - Water Warfare/Warrior Online Community
WWIC - Water Warfare/Warrior Internet Community
CWW - Community for Water Warfare
WWC - Water Warfare Community

Can't say I'm particularly fond of any of the above. Perhaps another member may have a better idea.

WWN - Water Warfare Network? Seems nice and simple, and goes well with the name of this site. I actually once heard a Nerfer refer to us as such.

I usually just say "WW community" or something, but WWN works just fine. I should probably be using that term in the future anyways, as it matches our identity well. (Aside from this board, there's WaterWarfareNetwork, out YouTube channel.)

I too think WWN is fine. It's probably what I would have used in the first place.

I think Water Warfare Network / WWN works. Water War Network is easier on the tongue, but it doesn't really matter if it's war or warfare.

Looks like we have a general agreement on using WWN/Water Warfare Network/Water War Network as our general rallying phrase for the online community.

That said, I'm going to look into expanding in areas and ways that are of greatest interest to me in order to keep me motivated. I can only suggest others with time and energy to look at their own time and interests to figure out whether they can also contribute to our community's development in different areas.

None of us can cover all aspects of the community well - those able need to try to build or develop things in areas where their interests and strengths lie and hopefully our efforts end up complementing each other overall.

I'll be keeping the Facebook page as "Water Wars". I want something that's more immediately recognizable to the general public, and right now, I think that's the best name we have.

In that case, the names "water war network", "water warfare network", etc. all work, and all complement our current state and the name of our site perfectly.

I'd prefer not to compare ourselves to the NIC. We are WWN, completely different.
