Some pics DX was too lazy to upload. =p

Sorry for the 13mb of jpeg, for those of you on limited mobile data plans. It's worth it though.

WOW! Epic indeed. I fully expect you gentlemen to have the combat cams up and running for this one. Let's get all the footage we can.

Scott, that's great that your family is looking to work out together. Too many kids think its lame to do stuff like that with their parents. Are you getting a gym membership or are you doing everything on your own? Do you have any weights at the house? If you have enough space in your living room (I don't remember) I recommend doing P90x. You don't have to do all the DVDs to get a good work out regimen going, though if you do it's even better. If nothing else, I recommend looking up the Ab Ripper X online and doing that together. It's only 17 minutes long, but it will give you an incredible core and ab work out.

You also have the canal towpath right there. It's long enough for as hard a run as you feel like doing.

I actually like Hudson Highlands more than the abandoned factory. It has both woods and buildings, and less open space. I really can't wait to fight there. Are there any weapon restrictions like last year, or should I fix up the big guns? (Gotta prioritize.)

Scott: Are you working out for strength or speed/endurance? For the latter, I suggest jogging over any other form of exercise. Yeah, you can bounce around in front of your Wii or whatever, but in my opinion nothing is better training for running than, well...running. If you're out of shape you should definitely start out very slowly, because if you try to push yourself too hard on the first day you'll wind up getting really sore for the next few days, and you'll get discouraged. Strength training is also very good (though most people on here seem to value speed over strength for water wars, but I digress), but the best way to get stronger in my opinion is to get a gym membership (or get weights, but they tend to get left in the closet), though that's not an option for some. If you don't have access to a gym or weights/equipment, then you can always do daily push-ups and similar exercises. Again, don't push yourself too hard until you've been doing it for a while.

(Wow, maybe I should do a demonstration speech [for public speaking] on working out, haha. Please carry on.)

There are no weapons restrictions, except for no camo on day 1 (factory/backup site). Due to the probability of cooler weather, I would not recommend using WBLs or water cannons. The factory will have very limited refill opportunities, so plan accordingly. Day 2 (the highlands) has no issues with water availability, but you will need to hike 1-2 miles with whatever soakers you intend to use.

Because of the questionable legality of day 1 and the distance in of day 2, don't plan on being able to go back to the cars for water, gear, or to switch guns. You will need to be able to carry everything you intend to use.

Strength training is designed to make you faster and more explosive, if you choose to train that way. Lifting can be tailored to any fitness goal, simply change the number of reps, sets, form, or type of lifts. Speed vs strength is a non-existent comparison, you have to be strong in order to be fast. During the height of the season in 2010, I only weighed about 130 lbs, but I could also deadlift 385 - triple my body weight - with picture-perfect form. There are lifting programs where your muscles don't noticeably bulk up, all of the gains are in generating power and explosiveness. This is why powerlifters are often surprisingly skinny - getting huge is not really the goal.

If you train for endurance, be sure to maintain a minimum pace that challenges you - don't just jog. Switch up the pace on alternating days and during the run itself. Also be warned that over time, only going on long runs converts your fast twitch muscles to slow twitch and they don't readily convert back. Of course, if you're on the enemy team, that's fine with me :p I would suggest an all-around training program that involves sprinting, speed endurance, and distance, although sprinting and speed endurance are more useful for water wars. Speed endurance involves some really tough training, so don't go there until you're ready.

DX himself would weigh in on the working out discussion, if anything. But we do have another thread for that which SEAL started. iSoaker's usually the one trying to keep things organized while the rest of us seem perfectly content with topics getting derailed. =) (I do appreciate it though, iSoaker.)

Plus, nothing wrong with discussion a little war preparations. A few months back, I myself may have discussed a little too much on the WBL and other preparations for Soakemore in that thread.

Anyway, I do need to book my flight. Not sure if I discussed the plans here, but marauder and I are staying for a week. DX is trying to get a Nerf war together on the following Saturday. I'll edit back to this post after I figure out a few things.

Edit: Flight booked.
Dec 6th (Fri): DTW/3:55pm to LGA/5:40pm
December 16 (Mon): LGA/9:40am to DTW/11:38am

SEAL, if you guys find the time after FF weekend, we should hang out, skirmish, or something. There's gotta be a break somewhere in the exams for you guys to.

Yeah, I don't know how often I'll be free after the initial Sunday, but I'm sure we will be able to hang out at least one, if not 2 or 3 afternoons during the week. That following weekend I will be busy with family. Speaking of which, I am going to invite my cousin Drew. He lives in Hoboken, NJ which isn't too far away. If you were at Hydropoc you probably met him.

Storm, your WWn League rite of passage is getting at least one kill on DX in any community war. I accomplished this twice by exploiting the right battle conditions at MOAB, but my attempts at Downpour were met with quite a bit of disappointment (I got damn close to it though). I had no chance at Soakemore because I was on his team most of the time and friendly fire doesn't count lol. (And when I wasn't on his team, I played horribly nonetheless, although I didn't have anyone like marauder on my team either.)

Frozen Fury's emphasis on CQB will make things way more interesting though. It's probably a bit off from what I'm expecting, but it's still my kind of place. I think use of cover will actually become important here.

Don't my 3 kills on Ben count as my rite of passage ? :cps1000: :soaked:

They would if DX was on his team while you got the kills. =p Although that said, it was mostly situational luck that allowed me to get the hit. DX only has two arms to keep one blaster primed, while 3 or 4 of us surrounded him while his team allowed him to be in that situation. =p

When the dust has settled, all pressure chambers exhausted, and we're done sluggin' water around, I propose the following activity afterwards:

http://cardsagainsthumanity.com/
It's basically a version of Apples to Apples that sucks less.

We can also add our own cards and combine them with what's there. Cards Against Humanity, WWn League Edition:

Phrase Cards: Water Warfare, Clean/Clear Tap Water, Tap Shots, Nozzle Drilling, Oozinator, Bladder Discharges, Hasbro, Squealing when Pumped

Question Cards:
What has more range than an Electrostorm?
What would you not want stuck in a CPS 2700 bladder?
What can you make out of Nerf Tornado scrap parts?
The Douchenator was REALLY named after ____________.
Leave NO ____________ Dry!
How do you taunt the opposing team in rivalries?
I left ____________ and ____________ hidden near our flag for CTF.

etc.

Perhaps this needs to be moved into another thread, but this is something I could bring to FF.

What would you NOT want stuck in a CPS 2700 bladder? Dirt, fire ants, water balloons, gelatin, coca cola, screws, tape, holes...a CPS 1-3-5 bladder? I can't imagine there is anything you would want in a 2700 bladder, sans H2O.

^ You gotta pick from the card pool, and the judge picks the funniest.
"What would you NOT want stuck in a CPS 2700 bladder?"
- A Fetus
- Republicans
- AXE Body Spray
- A Monkey Smoking a Cigar
- A Good Sniff

Some of the cards would be too offensive for these forums, but that's what makes the game great! (And much better than Apples to Apples, which is a boring bout of memorizing actors' names.)

Anyway, I played this today (without the cheesy WWn edition cards I just made up), and I am indeed bringing this to Frozen Fury.

That's really hilarious. Are those going to be actual choices? Also, if possible maybe you could set aside the R rated cards and you could come over to Tony and Danny's one night and play a PG version. I think they would think this is really funny.

Yes, those are actual cards from the game. (The answers I listed, not the CPS 2700 bladder question which I made up.) The entire set is available on their site as a PDF.

Also, the problem is, many or most of the best cards are R rated lol. I'll see what I can do.

Yeah, removing the 'R' rated cards would be taking out most of them. The whole point of the game is to be highly inappropriate and offensive.

I'm sure Duxburian will love this game, he loves being 'R' rated. We will have to see, I'm normally not into games like this, but I will at least try it.

Have we gotten anymore confirmed precipitants yet? I know there are quite a few Maryland/Virgina members besides me and I'd be happy to give them I ride. I'm sure it will be fun as is, but I'd have more people to battle with. What about Wetmonkey, he lives in CT, what's his excuse?

I'm inviting 3 more people, my cousin Drew who was at Hydropoc, and my friends Will and Jonna who are from NC but live in NYC now. I am going to talk to them later today or tomorrow since I didn't have time this weekend due to being out in the field for training without a phone from Thursday to Sunday.

As for the card game, are you printing the cards or are they ordered?
