While brainstorming our different objectives I identified several locations that would make for great film. There are 2 particular locations that I think would look super cool, but will probably not be included in the actual fighting. If we have time I would like to go these locations after the battle and set up the cameras there. I hope everyone is ok with lots of walking.

Please bring camo. You will need it. If you have random camo fabrics bring those as well. Especially if you have brightly colored soakers.

*edit*

I now have a tentative schedule.

1) Isolated POWs have overpowered their guards and taken their weapons.
Unfortunately, almost all ammo has been expended during the fight with the guards. Link up with the other POWs while avoiding capture from the rest of the guards, who are now on your tracks. POWs/Rebels have 3 lives.

2) Find and rescue the General
After linking up you must rescue the General who is held in an unknown location deep in the recesses of the green hell. You cannot yell or scream as this will draw enemy forces to your area and they may kill the General rather than surrender him to the rebels. Link up with the General and avoid being eliminated in order to complete this round. POWs/Rebels have 3 lives.

3) Escort the General to the dam to meet up with reinforcements.
If he is eliminated, you lose. Make it to the dam with the General to win this round. If the General hits an attacker the attacker is eliminated. POWs/Rebels have 3 lives.

4) Assault the arsenal.
Now that you have secured reinforcements the General has directed your attention to a powerful arsenal located along the water. This arsenal contains high powered blasters, equipment, and food that are imperative to the success of your little force. Seize the arsenal at all costs. POWs/Rebels have a 15 minute grace period with infinite lives. After the initial 15 minutes you have 3 lives.

5) Kill 'Em All
Go on the offensive with your new found heavy weapons and supplies. The hunters become the hunted. Each water warrior only has 1 life. 1hk. Last team left standing wins it all!

Triple edit.

The boys probably won't be free until Saturday evening.

I don't know what y'all want to do at this point.

If you have my number give me a call after 5, because I won't be on here after then.

Thanks for keeping me in mind. The pain is manageable at the moment, but the nature of the injury means that once it's past a certain point, it probably won't be the same again. So I'd rather play it safe. I should get a foot stretcher today in the mail that should help prevent any issues going forward.

If you all want to postpone then I'd be okay with that, given I can't participate this weekend.

We should try Reddit or NerfHaven or something to get some folks not from the board. Even only two people would make a big difference.

Event is still on, though we may be doing a lot more filming and less fighting. John is coming now too and Tony and Danny are free Friday and Saturday evenings, so that's 5 people on Friday evening and Saturday, and 7 Saturday evening.

Tiffany and I looked at our calendar and we can do another war at our place in September. So, this will be more of a hangout and prepare for the big one.

I like the idea of advertising on reddit and NerfHaven. Keith and I want to get something up on Youtube before then as well.

This war has been postponed.

Keith blew a tire on his way down and it won't be until tomorrow afternoon that they can get another in the right model. Ben is still recovering from an injury, and Tony & Danny had a scheduling mix up.

Do not fret good people! We will bring the fight.

We could possibly do this next week, but I could also postpone until September. This would give us time for Ben & Rob to heal and for Stephen to take time off from his job.

What say ye?

Sorry to hear this fell through.

I expect to be able to run around fine by the weekend of July 22. But I already planned to go to a meetup that weekend. I could cancel if there are no other good options. The weekend of the 29th seems more likely to me.

I'm really sorry guys, I'm kicking myself because I knew that my left front tire wasn't right, I could hear it squeaking, and loosing grip on turns for like an week before now. I should have just not been a bum and checked it before I left. So again, I'm really sorry about that, I hate being a party pooper.

Hopefully this will all work out for the better and we can find a date when everyone's free and feeling better, and when we'll have the numbers to do that objective round. I'm really looking foreword to that, it sounds awesome.

I'm free just about all summer, and September as long as I don't have a baseball game. But over anything else I'll make this priority. Just come up with a date and I'll be there.

August 2nd-6th are the only dates I know I am not available. That said, I am probably going to go on an RV trip with my grandpa sometime in August, so it would be best to have dates for the war planned out soon so that I can plan that other trip. Also is SEAL still planning on having a war in NY?

Pretty much any weekend will work for me in theory. If we're going to have a full blown war, I'd personally prefer to wait until the cooler months. I've adapted to the point where I can stand to be in the high heat, but doing any physical activity turns this native northerner into a dripping mess. I get wasted just by weed-whacking for fifteen minutes. So I vote for maybe smaller meetups/hangouts in the next few weeks, and save the bigger stuff for September, October, etc.

Scott: As of now the war is still on, scheduled for August 11-13. But should the attendance drop below 5v5, it will be postponed until next summer.

My August weekends fill up in a hurry, so I'd need to know well in advance. There's still a lot of uncertainty in my schedule, too. I can eat limited solid food as of today, so I am bulking back up, but that's going to be a war in and of itself. Restoration of my previous weight will take a surplus of about 21,000 calories - that's a lot of eating and a lot of sleeping. A full water war, in high heat, really isn't a good idea until I have regained a cushion of energy to burn. As the starvation fever fades away, my tolerance to heat has also fallen back toward more typical levels. There hasn't even been an actual 90 degree day yet this summer, so I'm sure I'd go down and melt like the wicked witch. Fall sounds great, though.

July 29th and 30th is the new dates for the war. We can have another in the fall, but let's do this at the end of July. If people are too sapped we can use that time to fill. Gotta make use of the fact that Brandon & Jon don't live too far off and Ben has the summer off.

Sure, it would be nice to have company in the car. Actually Chief, could you pick up David at Newark-Penn Station? I still have to call/text him tomorrow to see if he is even able to come, but if he is, it would make a lot more sense if you got him on the way down and I could go pick up Ben. If not I will see if I can get my cousin or a local friend to come. These things tend to be better with more people, and I can fit 4 in my car, actually technically it seats 5, but that wouldn't be comfortable on a 5-6 hour drive.

Also I see my sociologist this Friday from 11-12, so probably the earliest we would be able to get the car packed and leave to go get been would be 1pm. I can cancel the appointment if you want to try and head out earlier then that though, it's no problem so long as I give a couple days notice.

I'll let you all know tomorrow after I get in touch with David.

Double post, but I figured it would be more obvious then updated the post above. David is able to come if Chief can pick him up at Newark-Penn Station. Alternatively he might be able to take a Bus down to DC a couple days early and pick him up here. I believe Chief you said you don't have a phone at the moment, so it might actually be easier for him to take the bus. The area around the station can be quite confusing, and timing pickup/finding eachother when you can't communicate might be a problem.

David doesn't really check the board, like ever, so just let me know what you want to do and I will relay the message to him.

Unfortunately, I've decided to sit out for all remaining wars this season. My foot doesn't seem to be getting better at all. Sorry folks. I should have this under control by next year.

In the meantime I have a lot of homemade water gun ideas...

Scott: I'll have to keep you updated on that. Yesterday I spent all day changing the head gasket seals on my car so I wouldn't have to smell burning oil the whole way down; I know that doesn't like a big job, but my car has a V6 engine so the rear gasket is under the air intake manifold. So basically it's a all day project, but I got it all done and now my car won't start and I have no idea why. It sounded an little like the timing is off, I don't know how cause I bare touched the timing belt, but if it is that would be really bad news, hopefully it's just something stupid I forgot to connect. So fingers crossed I get figure out what's wrong by the end of today, and hopefully I didn't burn out and valves of anything like that.

But if all goes well, Would taking a bus to DC be hard for David? If not I'll do my best to get at the train station, It's just an lot more difficult because yes I don't have a phone or GPS so reading direction while driving though an city can prove very challenging. So if taking a bus isn't a problem for him, that's definitely be an lot easy for me. But please ask.

And also that time works fine for me, I can arrive an little after noon on Friday.

Does the objective format still work for everyone for Saturday? If you have any suggestions let me know.

Chief: Taking the bus is fine, we talked about it and realized that without a phone pickup might be hard. in fact David realized if he took the bus he could come a few days early and have time to hang out with me, play my model trains, and go on a big thrifting run! I think he plans to take the bus both ways.

And as for replacing stuff on your car, I have no doubt about how hard that can be. Just be glad you don't have a Volvo, I had to remove the fuse box, in order to reach the bolts so I could remove the air intake, just so that I could replace a headlight!

SSCBen: That is probably for the best, unless Marader has found a closer spot, it is about half an hour hike from the drop of point just to get to the battle area, not something you want to be doing on a messed up foot.

Edit: Chief if you can't get your car working, would you be able to take a bus down or anything? Don't know where/how to catch the bus up there, but I could certainly pick you up at the station here, I'd hate for you to miss this because of car trouble.

Right now I'm looking at a start time of 11 on Saturday. This seems late, but we actually didn't start fighting until later last MOAB - and everyone was exhausted by 4.

This time we will be parking off Ranch Rd and the fighting will begin much closer to the parking lot. Then we will push the fight, through objective based rounds, deeper and deeper in to the battlefield. That way we don't have as long of a hike in.

11 will also give Brandon and Jon enough time to get here, assuming they are leaving Saturday morning and not Friday night. It will also give Keith and myself some time to go set up cameras as necessary, to do some battlefield scouting, and to allow everyone to eat (because we won't be stopping once the fighting starts). The idea is to once again maximize fighting time as much as possible.

There are a few really nice deer stands in the area, almost more like tree houses, that I want to check out. It's not hunting season, but I want to make sure we are all clear before the fighting starts. We may use them for film opportunities.

Everyone bring food. As I said, we will not be stopping. I'm getting a bunch of hot dogs and other stuff to cook over the fire Saturday night.
