Re: MOAB 2019

Most of March should be okay, although the Myrtle Beach trip will most likely be moved to next weekend (9th-10th) because the weather isn't so great this coming weekend. You're still welcome to join us. I'm pretty sure it's a short drive for you. As mentioned, April is looking pretty busy at the mom...

Re: Plastic Welding

Yeah, for sure. Just note that whatever you want to weld should be something that you don't care about the aesthetics of. Reason being, it won't look pretty unless you take the time to sand it down and repaint it. Internal tubing and stuff doesn't matter, and that's primarily what I'd expect to use ...

Re: Is Water Warriors Dead?

I actually just saw that. Right as I was considering "un-liking" their page, haha. But that's kinda weird. The Outlaw is like ten years old now (remember how it used to be called the Equalizer? I actually have one of those), so I don't know why they keep re-releasing it. If they're going to do that ...

Plastic Welding

So on my way to visit marauder the other weekend, I hit a dead animal on the road and cracked the front chin spoiler on my car. Fortunately it's just a black plastic piece and not the actual bumper. But to the point, a friend of mine told me about this plastic welding tool that can be used to fix it...

Re: Is Water Warriors Dead?

Good find! I'm willing to bet that gun is going to be another Adventure Force/Walmart special. Pity it seems to be a little cream puff of a blaster. Can't believe BBT is reduced to building generics now. Yo, even Hasbro has been making more powerful guns than they have lately (i.e. the Soakzooka and...

Re: Is Water Warriors Dead?

I just want more people so we can have bigger and better wars, haha. I have lots of sick event ideas but none of them really work with small groups. But it is pretty incredible that community members are still getting together even when the online portion is so sleepy. It has become more of a physic...

Re: Is Water Warriors Dead?

Yeah I'm thinking it's possible that BBT will continue to build guns for Walmart and stuff, so it would be good to keep an eye out. It's not like they were really delivering much recently anyway, but it's still a little disheartening to see them seemingly abandon their water gun line that served the...

Is Water Warriors Dead?

So I just checked out http://www.buzzbeetoys.com/ to see if there was any information on this year's WW blasters, only to find that Water Warriors is no longer mentioned anywhere on the site. At least nowhere that I could see. All the water blasters and the Water Warfare Handbook are gone, and all t...

Battlefield Injuries

Water warfare can be a rough sport. Share with us any injuries or accidents that have happened to you while fighting. This could also include an injury or some other issue that happened to you prior to the battle, yet you still fought through it. As sucky as they are when they happen, they make for ...

Re: Autumn Invitational War

We are? Well hopefully on Sunday, because I'll probably be in Kentucky tomorrow. I brought my 12-gauge back down from NY, so we could go trap shooting or something.

Did anyone get any pictures from this event?

So how did it go? Sorry we couldn't make it, but the timing just didn't work out. "Chief" is staying here for a while though, so maybe we could get together sometime.

Re: Autumn Invitational War

I thought the exact same thing when looking at the photos. It reminds me of Paine, what with the pond and some of the terrain. I approve. But I will be out of state on the 29th, so attending isn't really an option for me unfortunately. Have fun and don't forget to take pictures! Also, wi-fi and hot ...

Re: Replacement screws for old Super Soakers

Or you can just go down to your local hardware store and not have to wait a month for shipping. :p It might be a little more expensive, but still dirt cheap. If I remember right, most CPS screws are #4, but I'm sure the size doesn't have to be exact; it is plastic after all. So it doesn't matter if ...

Re: A chart showing pump diameter vs. force

That's pretty awesome. Unfortunately those numbers don't mean a whole lot all by themselves. Does any body know how much pressure is typically built up in a soaker? Not really sure how many pounds of force is considered a lot either. I'm assuming anything over 40 lbs (going by the numbers in red)? I...

Re: APH Design Questions

^Yes, and that coupled with a larger nozzle (3X maybe?) that I drilled out certainly was an improvement over the stock gun. But my point was that larger chambers don't necessarily equal more power. So you don't need massive water tower-sized PCs on your homemade, unless you really want the extra sho...

Re: APH Design Questions

That's weird. Pretty much any Lowes or Home Depot that I know of sells up to 6" pipe. But I've made a gun like this with 3" chambers before, and it was the most unwieldy water gun I've ever used. You definitely want to make the blaster as compact as you can. A good nozzle should still give you bette...

Re: Nerf Super Soakers for 2019

For what it's worth, the Soakzooka did actually achieve about 40 feet with 6X output according to isoaker. Ironically, that actually makes it more powerful than the Splashzooka (which I proclaimed to be the far superior 'zook), even if the original is obviously more practical. But piston guns just o...

Re: A New Twist on CTF - Introducing CTB

Sounds psychological to me. I've never known anyone to get trashed that fast. Unless it's some kind of reaction to the drugs or something, in which case I definitely would stay away from booze at all costs. I also used to be on a medication that wasn't supposed to be mixed with alcohol. Wasn't fun. ...

Re: Interesting firing valve used in air cannon, might be worth investigating

The main problem would be that the pilot volume needs to be refilled with air after each trigger pull. If you use tap shots I imagine this will exhaust your air supply too quickly. Perhaps you could use a dual-shaft pump; one that pumps water into the chamber as normal, and another smaller one that...

Re: Autumn Invitational War

Let's see, here are the weekends when I probably won't be available: -All of September -October 13th and 27th -November 3rd Holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas are most likely off the table too. There's a good chance other stuff might come up as well. What did y'all have in mind? Since it seems...
