Re: Spyra One
Now that I've seen the initial price...I am...not quite...sure...about pledging to the kickstarter...umm...that price...yeah... It's about twice as much as I expected the product to cost. I do want to support this and obtain one, but if that's the lowest price offered...yikes. It is a sleek, innovat...

Re: HOG
Marauder, I have always wanted to go to your wars in NC. I have heard amazing stories and read the threads, but it is too far away. The furthest I have ever traveled for an event is 3.5 hours. If we have a war in DC, you don't have to drive there, it can be accomplished almost entirely via public t...

Re: 2018 Water Warriors/BBT Blasters
I still find it odd how water gun retail prices remain stuck at the $20-30 price point while other toy prices surge like hell. Nerf's Prometheus will be retailing in the fall for TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS. Two hundred dollars! It's still a plastic toy. Granted, the Rival line is marketed toward teens and ...

Re: Spyra One
Yeah, this is definitely looking cool as it comes closer to production reality! I signed up my email and gave you a FB like. I do prefer the blue, but they are both pretty good-looking colors. I'll need to buy a pair in order to do a proper review, probably one of each color. How well does the auto-...

Re: HOG
FWIW, I misread the original date and had it wrong in my head. Otherwise, I would have noticed that it conflicted with Endwar and told you much sooner. I've been very, very busy most of the late spring and summer, I make mistakes when trying to plan things in advance under those conditions. Even now...

Re: HOG
Something came up that I didn't know about before - the lead editor for Planet Earth is flying into NYC from Italy on the 21st. That moves "Deadline Day" up from August 1st to the July 21st weekend (I don't know how long he will be in the city). If he wants me to be there for things, I must be there...

Re: Soakemore 2018 planning thread
Deadline day for final completion of Planet Earth is August 1st. I can't do the 28th, as it would have me out of town the last 3ish days before deadline, and those are always chaos. July 21 weekend is already locked, and very weekend in August might be already booked, so I wouldn't be able to come d...

Re: Soakemore 2018 planning thread
My 3rd and 4th weekends in August are still open. Not too keen on doing the island again, though, it feels played out. Still really into the portables, though. I don't think those will ever get old, and there's several options if our usual area doesn't exist anymore.

Re: HOG
I don't know yet. Multi-day events are fairly expensive and my event fund is literally empty. I was planning on taking all of July off in order to fill it up for August stuff. That combined with the terrible heat and my lack of ability to drive very far in it has really killed my enthusiasm for doin...

Re: Time Spent Fighting at Major Wars
I still feel like battles should be judged by quality of action and not by time spent doing it. Take, for example, the first time we discovered the portables. That was only a pair of 12 minute fights with 4 people, but I value that higher than all of the time we spent at Carderock and Westmoreland c...

Re: 2018 Water Warriors/BBT Blasters
Question for iSoaker: Do you know how viable it would be for a major manufacturer to break from the traditional wholesaler --> retailer ---> consumer model in 2018? Obviously, big box store deals are a tried and true method of mass distribution, but the landscape is shifting at a furious pace. In th...

Re: 2018 WWN League Season Opener
Yeah, it could be a scorcher for this time of year. At least there is the creek? Should be several degrees cooler in its vicinity, wading in it to cross would definitely feel good. The longer walk in shouldn't be a problem for my team since they're all from the area except me. I may suffer in high h...

Re: 2018 Water Warriors/BBT Blasters
Much of the frustration is in the market, where we see water gun brands steadily decline year after year, while other brands soar to dizzying new heights, both in retail prices and in demand. Brio sets can retail for $40, 60, 100, 150. Nerf blasters can retail for $50, 60, 80, 100. Lego sets can ret...

Re: 2018 WWN League Season Opener
Working well together is why I like being on Ben's team, regardless of the outcome. Neither of us have working 2000s or even heavy primaries right now, so I don't see why that would be OP? With these hit rules, where any felt amount of water is a hit, all you need is pretty much any heavy primary to...

Re: Water Storage????????
The specifics of the location typically determine the best type of water supply, like how easy it is to access, how far it is from a parking lot, whether you have to drive there or can walk, etc. The more difficult things are, the more you need to rely on smaller containers and manpower to bring in ...

Re: Underrated water guns
I don't think 2700s are underrated so much as just not a first preference for most. 2700s have the output, range, and capacity to hang with pretty much every heavy soaker. It's one of the best skirmishing/defensive options there is. But, a lot of people prefer the aesthetics and handling of the 1500...
