Re: Latest Soaker / Water Blaster

@SEAL:

How do you access the battery pack on the Electrostorm? From the pictures on iSoaker it looks like it might be a screw, but it's unclear from his review whether it is Philips or a thumbscrew or if the battery lid pops off via a latch of some kind.

Re: Secondaries, what's the point?

^Nice! Spend your dollar wisely. Perhaps the CPS 2000 was over the top. I think a much classier secondary would be an XP 15. In all seriousness, I don't use secondaries at all. I've actually been contemplating having a "primary" weapon be something like a WBL or watercannon that has tremendous short...

Re: Vermin War 13 Official Thread

I know you don't have too much control over when the US government decides to fly you back from the other end of the world, but I'll be starting a new job in NYC on Monday, May 28th, so I won't be able to make it that weekend. I'd be fine the weekend before, though, and I might be able to bring a co...

Re: Secondaries, what's the point?

I don't always use secondaries, but when I do, I use a CPS 2000.

(One internet dollar to anyone who gets the reference).

^ UV radiation is not very dependent upon how "clear" the skies are. See: http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2732/are-uv-rays-really-more-powerful-on-cloudy-days Also, while exposure to high levels of UV radiation can indeed decrease the "strength" of PVC pipe, this really only translates to h...

Re: Douchenator Project

Don't take it above 100 PSI. Don't break that rule. Also, do you have a gauge on the cannon, or does your pump come with one built in? Remember that the gauge on most bicycle pumps is not designed to be accurate above 100 PSI, because they are not normally used in applications above that pressure. I...

Re: What's the Point of the WWn League?

To me, it seems like the League exists solely because iSoaker wanted to provide an incentive for more members to upload and document their water warfare activities. We can spend a really long time defining what "water warfare activities" means, but at the end of the day, if the ultimate incentive fo...

Re: What's the Point of the WWn League?

IMO the WWn League would be the perfect catalyst for maintaining a healthy community of about 5 - 10x the current size of Soakerdom.

I think most fire-fighting air craft use gravity fed release systems, but I may be mistaken.

Re: A spigot which ties your water balloons for you...

It's not really "back pressure", just the normal pressure exerted within the system. You're not increasing the pressure in the system by shooting into a water balloon. It's no different than holding your hand in front of the nozzle to stop the stream of water.

Re: New Forum for League Submissions?

I agree with M4. Also, I am generally opposed to new sections simple because I do not think we have enough content to justify additional splitting. If anything I think consolidation might be appropriate. In biology there is a dichotomy between "lumpers" and "splitters", and when talking about web fo...

Re: CPH help please

Volume can be calculated using the formula L*Pi*R^2 = V, where L is the length of your PC and R is the radius (ie half of the inside diameter of the pipe). Basically just plug in whatever diameter pipe you want to use into that formula, set it equal to volume (convert 20 oz to whatever unit of measu...

^CA99: Have you ever shot water balloons out of your cannon? If so, what size balloon? What range did you achieve? How often did the balloons break before exiting the chamber? I have used both ball valves and sprinkler valves on both in-line and over-under cannons. Sprinkler valves are definitely be...

Re: Douchenator Project

^The Douchenator is a WBL with a ball valve, not sure where the confusion came from. A Douchenator is an in-line WBL, and is incredibly simple to make. It consists of a chamber with some kind of fill valve (a Schrader valve is most common), a ball valve, and a barrel. The Douchenator I made used 3" ...

Re: World's Most Expensive SS 50

All I can do is laugh. At the end of the day, even the oldest Super Soaker models are not nearly old enough to warrant that kind of a price. People overestimate the number/intensity of collectors and/or antique enthusiasts. People are willing to pay $100 for say a CPS 1500 because they remember how ...

Re: CPS 3000

It is certainly possible. However, you will have to find a way to connect tubing from the backpack to the intake tube on the CPS 3000. Connecting the tube to the backpack is easy, you will just need a double-headed barbed tube fitting that fits the tube that you are using, and the tube on the solar ...
