Re: Downpour 2013 - Official War Planning Thread
Sorry I won't be able to make this war. I've gotten my ass handed to me by work and school recently, and I need a break! Although I was able to soak some of my students yesterday during our Field Day. I used the CPS 1200 that I pulled out of the trash a few months ago, and the kids were shocked. I d...

Re: Boing!
Ignoring your blatant disregard for reasonable advice, I'd say go for it! Build this homemade exactly the way that you have described it. Pump it up with water. Open the ball valve. You will realize very quickly what I am talking about. Make sure you post pictures and videos so that we can see your ...

Re: Boing!
I'm sorry, but this will not work out the way that you want. A standard spring will decompress linearly. This means that the stream exiting the nozzle will decrease in range linearly. And since the spring you are using is quite short (I believe you said ~3"), the shot time will not be very useful. T...

Re: WWN League Spring Opener
Unfortunately I won't be coming to this war. That week will represent the first vacation I've had since Christmas, and quite frankly I need the time to relax. Please post lots of pictures so that I can live vicariously through you guys!

Re: Water Warriors Drench 'n Blast at Target
Looks interesting. I find the WW designs this year to be kinda goofy. For example, in this and other guns they are trying to emulate the hard lines and more aggressive styling of the Nerf SS. But at the same time they stick a rounded tank and rounded PC on this blaster. It makes the gun look like it...

Re: Super Cannon 3 design tips
SuperCannon 3 has been built, SuperCannon 4 has been already designed, by me! Maybe you can name it SuperCannon lite or something. Also, I wouldn't replicate the original super cannon, simply because it failed, I would just try making the super cannon 2 cheaper. Wait, you built a SuperCannon? Could...

This is disappointing. I was hoping for improvements in the 2013 WW lineup.

Re: 3" solid piston
I have used a method similar to what Drenchenator described to make pistons for a potato cannon. They work pretty well! Of course using a saw or template is preferable to free-handing a traced circle with a pair of scissors. You can find suitable material at Home Depot or Lowes. It would be labeled ...

Sounds like you've done most of the big modifications already. I would recommend a pump rod reinforcement and a paint job.

Re: Cool Garbage Find
Well, I walk about two miles to work every morning, and I found the CPS 1200 close to my school. As a result, it is still sitting in my closet in my classroom waiting to get tested. I will most likely bring it back home during my next three day weekend so I have time to test it and find out if anyth...

Re: Cool Garbage Find
Thanks! M4, it is the yellow type. And no, I never did get a chance to fix that broken CPS 21k. I think the problem was too many balloons! It was built during a time when we thought more was better. I think I'll fix it up and repaint it with a good camouflage and maybe bring that and this new 1200 t...

Cool Garbage Find
Hey, I thought you guys might find this interesting. On my walk to work this morning, I noticed a purple tank with an orange cap sticking out of a garbage can. Right away I knew it was a Super Soaker, and even though my prime days may be behind me, I practically sprinted over to the can for a closer...

I just hate looking at all of these water guns and not seeing orange triggers on a majority of them. It's such a disappointment.

Re: Fall 2012 Connecticut Water War
Wow, this looks super promising. Unfortunately I cannot commit myself for sure until the week prior, simply because my schedule has and will continue to be an unpredictable mess. We have field trips coming up this year, parent teacher conferences, and I also may have work due for my graduate program...
