Re: Cps 3000 help
I'd say either go with a twist fitting as above, or find a threaded pipe adaptor and use garden hose connectors. You could permanently bond the backpack tubing to the pipework inside the blaster, but the connection will probably break at some point and it makes emptying and storage more difficult.

Re: Need Supersoaker Monster XL Repair
If it's leaking from the front of the QFD nozzle, it could just be a dodgy seal/spring, in which case you need to remove the QFD nozzle (some are threaded and come straight off, some are glued) and replace/improve/lube the seal and/or spring. If this doesn't work, you can install a new check valve s...

Re: Cps 4100 trigger reinforcement
I'd also reinforce underside of the trigger bar (the bit that connects to the piece of the trigger you pull with your finger). This is where the point of greatest stress on the trigger bar. When you pull the trigger the trigger bar is being pulled forwards by the valve but you are pulling back at a ...

Re: Need Supersoaker Monster XL Repair
Depending how far away you live, I'm sure someone in the community will be happy to help (I would if I was anywhere near). We generally encourage self-repair as a blaster will develop more problems as it ages, and fixing it yourself will make it easier next time. The common fix for a broken QFD nozz...

Re: Fire extinguisher blaster?
NPT is a type of thread (National Pipe Thread) standard across the US. Best way to check is to take the extinguisher bottle to a local hardware store, find some NPT threaded components and test how well they fit into it's thread. It probably will be standard NPT. Over here, even aluminium drinks bot...

Re: Cps 4100 trigger reinforcement
Oh, he meant the firing nozzle on a 4100 not an SC nozzle in general. Yeah, like soakinader said, the pressure on one side of the firing valve will push it open like a big check valve (as long as the valve is a pull valve). After that, the water fills the PC, then opens the PRV when the PC is full, ...

Re: Cps 4100 trigger reinforcement
It uses the PRV. Once it fills the pressure chamber to firing pressure, the PRV opens and fills the reservoir!

Re: Cps 4100 trigger reinforcement
This article and this thread (click on the image in the third post) probably have the best pics of what you need to do. You could do this with the blaster intact, but it would be easier to open it, especially if you want to add metal sheets to either side of the trigger as per the second link.

Re: SuperSoaker Hydro Cannon for Boat Wars
Pics? How long is it at the moment? A barrel should straighten the flow of a stream to some extent (but so would the screens in the unmodified nozzle), but will reduce it's velocity. Unfortunately the best way to find the optimal length is to experiment. Pipe diameters and blaster performance varies...

Re: Boing!
You could use a threaded Schrader valve into a threaded socket or drilled endcap, or use a pushfit Shrader valve into a drilled endcap. I've used the pushfit ones in homemade NERF guns. They are designed for car/motorbike tyre use, but seem to be able to stand up to pretty ridiculous pressures and d...

He meant the oncoming storm instead ofCA99.
You could also consider the MOARC (Mother Of All River Cannons). Bit more pricey (uses an electric/petrol powered water pump) but really powerful!

Re: Boing!
With the spring as well, the second pump probably isn't necessary, but a little extra pre-charge can't hurt. :goofy: You could consider just adding a Schrader valve to the back of the PC, and pre-charge it before a battle so you don't need to carry the extra pump around (you'd want a fairly large vo...

Re: WW Lightning firing valve not sealing
If the ball valve is closing all the way and isn't being held open a bit by any foreign objects then yeah, it sounds like either the ball itself is damaged and water is leaking through it somehow, or the seal is damaged.

Re: WW Lightning firing valve not sealing
The Lightning uses a ball valve doesn't it? If it's only a small stream of water it does sound like it isn't closing Is it closing all the way. If you can, test it while disassembled and see if manually rotating the valve's lever arm closes it. Could also be a worn out spring or a damaged seal aroun...

Re: Pumps Failing to Seal
E-tape isn't great for improving seals, especially not ones which come into contact with water (for use under normal o-ring seals PTFE 'tape' is better). Not sure what you can do about it tbh. E-tape may hold or a bit but will eventually be pulled off while pumping. If you an find some decent rubber...

Re: Latest Modification
Shortening the tubing in the reservoir won't affect the volume of water 'inside' the pump, unless the intake check valve (the one leading to the pump) is located at the 'free' end of the tubing (not sure, but I don't recall any blasters that do this). What it can do is use more of the available wate...

Super Soaker Block Party
An 'interesting' idea for a a water war event . I found most of the details here . Apparently you enter by downloading and printing a target and videoing yourself shooting it, or by doing something else with a water blaster. Probably not much interest in the blasters provided, but it sure would be f...

Re: my LPD
Andrew Ratio is 1-1 allowing for maximum shot time without range drop and 2' of 4" pvc compromises the PC And as for range on a given nozzle. I estimated that based on Ben success with the LPD 100 that CA99 has. Testing may prove that wrong but I can wait to find out. The 60x riot blast should soak...

Re: Roleplay setup: The standoff town
I think I got near to 60ft (end of main puddle, so slightly more than effective range) out of my low-ish pressure drop-off homemade (it uses a 5L expansion tank, but the internal water bladder is only 2L so a 1.5:1 air:water ratio). That drops to around 55ft at the end of the shot. That was with a 2...

Re: Nerf Super Soaker Switch Shot shot pics and thoughts
quit the doom on nerf thing, alright? I just want to know of the best current equivalent. To be fair, Oncoming Storm didn't slate NERF SS's, just piston blasters in general (although he may be forgetting the old piston water cannon things :goofy: ). There are BBT Water Warriors piston pumpers aswel...
