Re: New York City's Largest Water Fight, 2008

Looking at some of those pictures, I can say with some degree of certainty that yes, I would very much like to have been there.

Fun was had by all it seems.

Re: Water Warfare Scenario 4: Blind Corner

Soaker up to my shoulder, angled across my body so as to present a thinner profile, back up and out, and start taking slices out of the 90 or so degrees I'll have to traverse to find out what's on the other side of that corner. Oh and, do it fast. Likely you'll take them by surprise, and you'll have...

Re: New York, Central Park: Saturday, June 28, 2008

I'm going to have to rethink my position that competetive soaking might be the savior of the sport. Social networking sites are going to play a major role too. That might be something for you guys to look into.

Sounds fun. I wish them all the best.

Re: Water War Scenario 3: Under Cover

Depends on a variety of factors. Are we talking about cover or concealment here - decently thick trees that will stop water, or bushes that merely hide you from view? With cover, I'm going to get as close as I can and take them out. If it's concealment, I'm going to slink up as close as I can, and h...

Re: IT'S WAR! McCain versus Obama

I'd say that Obama's youth and fitness would probably lead to victory over McCain - in an open area. Pit them against each other in an urban or jungle area, and I think McCain could probably pull it off...he's got that aging warrior, old Rambo thing going - I think he's capable of one last glorious ...

I wish he was still around. He was cool.

That's a good picture too. You just know when you see someone approaching with 2 MXLs and a 2100, someone ELSE is going to get WET.

Re: Public Garden Trashed During Water War

I'll be the first to say that looked awesome. 350 some people in a waterfight - that's impressive. Unfortunately, they were idiots, and ruined something beautiful.

Storm 750, for the win. Decent tank size, good range, good power, it fits the hand well, and is nigh indestructible.

I look forward to reading this when it's all finished. It will be the "Art of War" for waterwarfare.

Re: Hands-On: Water Warriors M16

I would like to see them keep that exact design, and add a cylindrical pressure chamber right underneath the carry handle. That little flashlight lookin' thing under the forearm would work well as a pump. There is no container big enough to hold all the awesome that would be.

And this just happened to come out on April Fool's Day? When I see it in store, then I'll believe it.

Re: Safety Equipment

Voted for don't need 'em if used responsibly. We used the biggest, heaviest, most powerful soakers for roughly 3 years, and never needed goggles or other safety equipment. I can't imagine that running around a waterfight with workshop goggles on your head would be much fun at all.

Re: Accuracy Improvements

Go looking for airsoft optics. Waterguns don't have the range capabilities to make scopes useful, so go as cheap as you can. If you get some of the good red dot optics like Silence was describing above, I might offer to buy 'em off you.

A round of applause to Buzz Bee for getting away from bright, primary colors! Nice job. Everything looks good, but that's what stood out to me.

Re: What makes a great water gun / water blaster?

Range, range, and...range. Everything else is secondary. Waterfights have always been (to me and my friends) about soaking someone else, and not getting soaked yourself. If you have to engage someone else inside their range, you might as well both just stick your heads in buckets of water and call i...

Re: The Future of Water Warfare

Yes, it is a PR problem, but that's being overcome. The college kids didn't listen to the PR when they participated in sponsored SoakerTag contests over spring break 2 years ago. The people running and gunning in NY and LA assassination games aren't listening to the PR, and they're playing WITH squi...

Re: The Future of Water Warfare

I think that had SoakerTag been properly implemented, it could've been an incredible boon to the soaking community. For one time in my life I saw college students running around with waterguns, and it being accepted in the national media. Combined with typical irresponsible college student behavior ...

Target had the BottleShot, Sneak Attack (Helix re-ish), and a blue MXD-6000. Looks like the hamster died in Hasbro's idea wheel.

Another piston soaker. Color me unimpressed.

Pretty dumb that they tried to put "sights" on there too. Accurate effective range is well within point shooting distance, and most soakers are not that well suited for aiming anyway, meant more for hip shooting than anything.
