Re: Next generation rubber CPS homemade water gun planning

Zman, Hand pump version or motorized version? What 3D modeling program are you using? If you are using Autodesk Inventor, I can just give you the native files without conversion to STP. By the way, I made that valve - it's way too hard to actuate, but the springs do close it adequately. I never trie...

Ben, can you just post the formula then? Or perhaps this is already recorded somewhere in the forums. Can you point me to where this is recorded? Thank you.

Re: 2020 vertical jet tests

If the theory is validated then we'll have a simple way to size nozzles in order to minimize flow rate for a given range. That'll increase how long your water will last. Is this something you could put into spreadsheet formulas and share via Google Sheets? Or Share via Google Drive if maintained in...

Ah! After 73 years, someone finally found a use for spent, unrecyclable Styrofoam cups!

Why Styrofoam? Does the cushioning property of the foam provide a better seal?

Re: Vapco PVC Spray N' Lock for PVC Homemades?

That's interesting. Thank you for sharing. I appreciate how you bring new stuff to the table in your threads. For this hobby, I could see using this spray. At home, I'm not so sure. I realize that getting a 1/4-turn on the pipe after insertion is often considered a best practice, but I can't always ...

Cool. Thanks for sharing.

I couldn't get your link to the old forum to work, but I was able to view at the following link...

EDIT: SSC forums were down. Ben corrected the issue. Your link now works.

CDMT, Fast Cure 5200 or regular 5200? They both have the same total cure time, but the alleged "Fast Cure" can be handled sooner. Are these your videos below? If so, can you post photos (not in this thread but in whatever thread is appropriate)? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmkA_CAZrog https://ww...

Re: Super Soaker XP100 Review

Soak~ Whether you replace/modify the spring or install a valve with a more positive seal, you are still compromising the pressure-relieving feature of the valve. As long as someone doesn't get too greedy, the pinch valve with an upgraded spring will still relieve at a safe pressure (I say this under...

Re: Super Soaker XP100 Review

If the trigger spring is too weak, replace it or modify it. Replacement would be best so there is no risk of rendering the blaster unusable. Modifying the spring may require cutting it shorter and reshaping the cut end to look like the original looped end. At rest, the coils will be more extended th...

'atta boy, Ben! Actual experimentation along with a little photographic evidence is how you inspired me a few years back. I enjoy all the talk about theory and best practices; so, keep that coming, too. However, your physical creations are what made you famous. Making the time to build and experimen...

Re: Homemade pump action designs?

The nozzle below suggested by TylerK is far and away the best nozzle I have. https://i.imgur.com/UQ0XO45.jpg I purchased mine HERE . The product page shows an image of the 2-inch sweeper nozzle, but this is indeed a 6" nozzle. I know of no other non-cast, non-stepped 6" sweeper nozzles on the market.

Ben, A one-handed balloon launcher would certainly be nifty (two hands to charge, one hand to fire). It looks like it's powered by LRT, which I'm sure you'll upgrade. You may even be able to use Theraband Gold. Or perhaps use Theraband Silver Tubing (there is no Theraband Gold Tubing). I don't know ...

Rike, Is there a screen on the intake to mitigate clogging of internal components from relatively large debris in the water? What if the water has a high calcium content (aka hard water)? I imagine the calcium would precipitate and scale inside the blaster. Can you run vinegar through it like you wo...

Ben - I have to agree with you about the product looking great. Each design revision of that shell has been a significant improvement in my opinion.

Rike - Will Spyra One be available in blue, too, from the start? Or do we have to wait for "Spyra Two"?

Hi Tengger,

Can you post a sketch of what you have in mind? Can you also post a photo of what you mean by "manual lever water pump"? This will give us a better idea of what you are trying to accomplish. Thank you.
